With permission from the Mods....I've been told it was fine to resurrect ...or regurgitate Cowboyography.
Keep it random, keep it civil.....and I'm not sure how you'd high jack a random thread...but don't do that either.
The last one hit over 8000 views...come gather around a new campfire.

When asked why I drink Red Bull and Vodka after 1 am?....I just tell them "I prefer to be wide awake ,for the next big mistake I'm about to make."

I guess it counts as Cowboyography... Is it random...? I leave it to the viewer to decide...

:p

Like a good buddy of mine used to say: "Fuck 'em if they can't take a joke!" :D

Why was the last thread closed? Why was the movie thread closed?
I was informed it had lived out its life, and was thoroughly hijacked....I'm not sure how a Random thread would be hijacked,...but whatever.
I asked the Mods the same thing, and was encouraged to set up another....so at the end of the day, I have no problem with it.

Varies now
For personal reasons I feel it’s best if I severely limit the time I spend reading and participating on here. As with anything, when the negatives begin to outweigh the positives...
I'm sorry to hear this. I always enjoyed your posts, even the ones that scared me.

A worthy successor to the random thread custom begun by Miss Hunter and carried on with the first random cowboyography.

That's a fact...Miss Hunter was the first to inspire these random threads....I wonder if she will give us all the finger again?
I for one.....take it as a compliment, but I'm kinda weird that way.
Which is probably why she and I get along so well.

That's a bigger campfire than I was thinking...But that'll do.
Hmmm. A pass to Burning Man costs hundreds of dollars. Members of the glitterati show up there with their fully staffed gourmet kitchens.

I had something in mind more like the sort of campfire in a clearing one might comes across when walking, riding or snow shoeing through a frosty forest. You arrive in the clearing and a Sybian-like character looks you up and down, makes a decision, and hands you a chipped enamel mug of a hot, semi-potable beverage. A few somewhat-plausible tales are exchanged, and you either settle in for the night, or continue on your way.

But if burning man is your thing, that's fine too.

Pickup trucks - canopy, open, roll-up, or other kind of cover?

(I'm assuming every cowboy knows something about pickup trucks, horses, or both...)

Tri-fold extruded aluminum flip cover. Very secure. On and off in less than 5 minutes if you need to transport taller materials, equipment etc. Stores easy and light enough to manhandle on my own.

I see we may have met....my coffee is semi potable for sure.
Yet it's the only hot beverage for miles...I've had a few night walkers appear out of the dark.
It's a little creepy at first, but half the time ,after things loosen up, it's a good visit.
I had an old Indian hail my fire once, he sat down, pulled out a cigar and reached in the fire to pull out a red coal.
He held that coal to the end of that cigar for at least ten seconds.....barehanded.
We visited over a cup of coffee for about an hour, and he walked off into the timber without a light.
I've never figured out who the hell he was, or what tribe he was from, and I've never seen him since.

As for the burning man.....I'm considering hanging up my fire axe, this last summer took something out of me, I don't think I'll ever get back.
