I've worked directly with the public since I was in Grade 6 (my first job in a bakery/deli), and I've found certain personality types that I have a hard time dealing with. Like Blondeluver said, the ones that complain about everything. This is how they take the focus away from themselves, and their own shortcomings (even if the failure or whatever is only seen by themselves) and/or they point out the imperfections, problems, shortcomings in other people as a way of justifying their own. Prime example: I absolutley hate it when someone (usually a woman) calls me skinny. (Oh- oh, I feel a tangent coming on) Now, this has never, not once, been said to me in a complimentary fashion. If they are complimenting, they say things like slender, slim, even thin. Why is it ok for a woman to look at me, wrinkle her nose and say "My god! Look at you. You're so skinny." I would love more than anything to say right back to her "Yeah, and look at you - you're so fat!" They have to insult my appearance in an attempt to justify why they don't get off their ass and go something about it. And don't take it out on me, or anyone else, that you don't feel good about yourself. If you notice, the most judgemental people are usually the most insecure.
The second personality is the one that blames all the bad stuff that happened to them (directly or indirectly) as the reason why they don't do the things they always tell you they wish they could do. (Holy run-on sentence Batman) I am sorry that these bad things happened to them, but, you know what? Bad things happen to everyone. I could give you pages and pages, and I'm sure there are very few people that can honestly say they've come this far unscathed. I get so frustrated when people use past hurts as a reason or excuse for their behavior. It's such a cop out, and I have very little, if any, respect for people like that.
Ok. I'll shut up now. Thanks for outlet
