Questions about canceled appointments

Talking with a group of fellow pooners I found out that I had a far higher rate of canceled appointments then they did and I mean way higher. It was suggested that I might be making my appointments to far in advance. I usually make appointments 5-7 days in advance. Now these ladies are all well reviewed ladies with good reputations and I don't think it's me, well at least I hope it's not me :p.

My question isn't what I should do about the canceled sessions, my questions are:

Is 5-7 days too far in advance?

And could scheduling too far in advance actually mean you have a better chance of getting canceled?

I prefer to schedule appointments 1 week in advance, actually, so it surprises me to hear about your experience.

I find that clients who schedule 2-3 days in advance have a very high rate of canceling their appointments with me. That's why I have become more trusting of people who book either 1 week in advance, or on the actual day that they want to see me.

Even so, I don't place limits on when people can book an appointment- I have just noticed that those who book 2-3 days in advance have a higher tendency to cancel when compared with those who book 1 week in advance, or those who book the day of.

Given that the particular ladies you wish to see tend to cancel on you when you book 5-7 days in advance, perhaps try booking with them 2-3 days in advance instead?

Best of luck,

Holly.

One thing that I found when booking with 'regulars' is that if you book too far in advance, you get a LOT more cancellations.

I think that one reason for this is that many girls give discounted rates (or they don't increase their rates over time) for their regulars, so, if you book way in advance there is a chance that someone else who is paying more will want that timeslot and you'll get bumped.

Also I think that being a 'regular' develops into a sort of mutual friendship kind of thing and then when given the choice and having to cancel someone, the regular gets cancelled because she knows that he'll understand and just rebook, ie: she won't lose the client over it.

That said, there are benefits to being a regular as well, especially in the YMMV areas and as I said earlier, lower or non-rising rates.

I agree with Holly

I prefer an engagment be scheduled as soon as the gentleman knows for certain he is able to keep it. I am happy to accomodate on short notice if my schedule allows me to, but prebooking means I can be fully ready for our wonderful experience.

I have engagments booked anywhere from 1/2 an hour to several months in advance. For the most part, those looking for shorter engagments (2 hours or less) tend to book with less notice, and those looking for overnights and multi day trysts book furthest out.

Every lady has her own preferences, so perhaps simply ask any ladies you are considering visiting with what their preferences are.

I think this idea of booking too far in advance is both right and wrong. The answer lies with the lady herself.

Someone like me or Holly (students) or Angel (business owner) probably prefers advanced bookings because we have a lot of other things going on. We are used to working this way and would rarely cancel. I have cancelled on clients only 4 times since I started. Once from being really really sick, once from being kept up the entire night with a crying friend, once recently because my cousin was visiting and I have not seen her in years and it was a regular who graciously accommodated my request and the 4th time was probably being sick, I don't remember. But for me, cancelling an appointment is a really big deal because it will be near impossible for me to find another time to see that client and I am used to sticking to appointments. You should see my calendar...between school, rehab for my back, work, and the business I run part time I am scheduled up the wazoo!!

BUT for ladies who take most of their appointments with shorter notice like Jasmine it might be difficult for them to keep appointments that are scheduled in advance, because like she says life happens. Maybe they are mothers and they really won't know for sure what their kids schedule's are. Or maybe because they mostly work on-call they forget about booked appointments. Etc etc.

I'd say when in doubt, just ask :)

In your first email ask if they take most appointments in advance or short notice (day before) or on call and then try to book the way that they are used to working. But if you really want to book further in advance then they are used to, definitely do what Nina is suggesting because it gives a lot more opportunity for the SP to remember the appointment and to know that the appointment is important to you.

SP Cancellations

From my experience, booking in advance is not a cause for SP cancellations, especially with well reviewed ladies.

And I agree, contacting your pre-booked date through the occasional email is often a good idea. But be judicious with your correspondences.

Depending on how well I know my date, I typically email once or twice before our date if it's a week or so away and keep the dialogue light, fun and brief.

Bottom line, constructive relationship building is the key, IMO. Do that and you won't have any problems with high cancellations.

I was meaning more that clients tend to cancel but yes sometimes thing happen with SPs. I have only had to cancel maybe twice on a client. Too many things can pop up. That is just my opinion. I know a few ladies that they only pre book and it always works out. I think I did not give it enough of a chance maybe. My first time working independent was in Calgary about a year ago, I had pre booked a lot of appointments before I got there a lot of them cancelled or did not show up and I have not done it since. I think it was a coincidence.
Yes sorry I didn't mean to imply you are unreliable :) I just meant it depends on the person (SP or client) and the non-escorting life they have. For some people planning in advance is just really difficult. So for these SPs it's best not to book ahead and for those types of clients it's best for them not to also. Like Holly, I've had the most cancellations with clients that book 2 days in advance but ones that book 4+ rarely cancel. It's almost like the 2 day guys are thinking best case scenario and trying to prebook...but their lives are hard to schedule and then something comes up.

Benefits to Advance Bookings

I've had the most cancellations with clients that book 2 days in advance but ones that book 4+ rarely cancel.
Something to be said about encouraging/taking advance bookings. If a client is planning a date a week or more in advance, it may mean that he is pretty organized. And organized people are pretty reliable, I find. Katlyn's observation support this argument.

In my work, we hire a lot of contractors. There's a saying "if you want a job done right, hire a busy person." Busy people who are organized are sticklers for managing their time. And they're reliable as ever.

I find it interesting that some SPs don't take/encourage advance bookings. To me, they cut themselves out of probably the most reliable of clients.

I thought the saying was "if you want a job done right, do it yourself", probably doesn't apply to well for a client/SP transaction though.

I almost always book same day appointments and can't recall having a cancellation. Booking with the travelling girls is a little more difficult.
I think it is better for them to have things set up several days in advance, my schedule is just so ever changing though I worry if I can honor an advance booking.
I'm afraid it could cause losses for the girls and prevent other prospective clients from arranging their own sessions.
I really can't find any solutions, although currently I am trying a scheduled booking with the option to change the time if I am free and their availability is open, I'm hopeful it all works out.

I would imagine girls would be trying to set up appointments with you and your dick harness! What girl in their right mind would cancel on that? ;)
Well if I actually needed a harness for my dick then you are probably right. Truth is I rely on the girls NOT being in their right minds just to get appointments.

Sorry to hear that happened to you. I do not think that is normal/appropriate behaviour for a professional SP. I would have been happy that you were respectful enough to call ahead of time to cancel instead of just not showing up.
My advice would be, that if you apologized & explained why you were cancelling, & she reacted that way, to just never see her again & leave it at that. You are right that she cannot "charge" you if you do not make an appt with her again. I think she was probably just upset & perhaps not in a great financial situation right now, & had already been counting on that money, (which is never wise to do, in this business especially), & she just over-reacted & took it out on you. I wouldn't be too worried about her having your cell-phone number, there is not all that much she can do with it & I doubt she is that vindictive.
(Also I do not believe that she couldn't book any other appts that night "because of you", unless your appt was supposed to be for an extended amount of time? And to be fair, you did give her a couple hours notice, she might have been able to book something else in that time, or something for later that night. I do not think you did anything wrong in this situation. There is not much else she can rightfully expect, unless she has a clearly advertised cancellation fee policy that you agreed to or something).

I wouldn't give her or the situation another thought. Life happens, and sometimes things don't work out as planned. This goes for SP's and clients, we're all human. You did the right thing by calling her up to cancel, if she isn't able to accept that...to be blunt, it's not your problem. As for her having your cell number...I wouldn't worry about it.

I was only staying for 1 hr and she never said anything in the emails or in the phone call and she had nothing on her CL ad about a cancellation fee. I just do not want her calling me and harassing me on my cell. I am new to pooning and this is my first cancellation in the 6 months that I have been doing this.

Once again thanks for the support
It is possible you hit on a bad day, as many sps get a lot of lame excuses. Frankly, IMO she should appreciate the fact that you did call to cancel, as many others in your spot would have simply not shown up at all. Rest assured you did nothing wrong, stuff happens. An sp who takes the cancellation graciously is one you would want to book another appt with; one who doesn't may not be someone you want to spend time with.

I would never charge a cancellation fee, that is ridiculous. I have made clients send me a deposit if they want to book again when they have cancelled a few appointments in a row...and I will never see a client that no-shows me. However charging a cancellation fee is silly...and it is also basically impossible. How is she going to prove that you made the appointment in the first place? If she does continue to call you just have her number blocked.

I think you did the right thing, you called with as much notice as possible. Infact, I don't even get clients to confirm their appointment until 2 hrs prior and you gave her that much notice. If she wants to work tonight, and she is a CL poster, 2 hours is enough time to find another booking IMHO.

Now, if you have consistently booked and cancelled with this SP, even with giving notice, my opinion might be a bit different. But if this was your first contact with her it sounds like she is either new, or very unprofessional. This is a fluctuating business, it is not a dentists office where we send out bills and credit collectors on past due accounts for missed appointments.

I've been frustrated myself in her situation: saying no to other callers because I'm loyal to the one that called first. However I never get angry; I always appreciate a call, even 30 min prior (though that short notice will irritate me a bit lol) better than a no-show. I've learned the trick is to tell the next few callers that you think you have booking but would they like you to call should the client cancel? This way you don't actually say no and can usually fill a spot if needed.

Oh, and what Violet said about the money is true. In this business money is not earned until it is in hand. Someone cancels and some girls think "I'm down $200" but really, they never had it in the first place but that is a hard mindset to learn to have.

This was my first contact with her. I sent her an email and she told me to call her so i did i booked the appointment but then i got called into work and i called her 40 min after i booked with her and my appointment was not till 10:45. This was the first cancellation i have ever made with anybody. I was really shocked on how she ripped into me.
Don't worry about it babe. It is a good sign that you are upset, shows you are a decent humanbeing to be upset when someone is angry with you. However, in this case, I'd say she over-reacted and it may be a special circumstance. Personally I would not post her info because you don't know the circumstances exactly and technically you can't comment on her service. If you post her info she may get a few prank no-show bookings and I don't really think it is worth it to hurt her business just because she was having a bad day and took it out on you.

You simply do not see her again...her behavior lost her a client and hopefully she will learn how to handle it better next time.

As for you, go on with your night and go see a different lady when you are done your shift ;)
