If I'm entertaining someone who likes beer, what selections should I have on hand? I can't ask this person ahead of time. Thanks for your advice!
yes Duvel (meaning Devil) is a great belgian ale you can also find in Vancouver sometimes. Sweetiepie if you want to do some reaserch on Belgian beers, go to Stella's on Commercial Drive, they have an awesome selection of Belgian and imported beer and great eats too, not to mention nice atmosphere.swoop069 said:Just came back from Vegas and I had this beer a Mandelay Bay and it is the Bomb!! Duvel, is the name and it is soooo good. I drink lots of beer, and I know a thing or two and if you can buy it drink it.
Also some of my import favorites! Espesually Fin du Monde, a couple of those and I really felt like it was the end of the world.john23 said:Maudite and Fin du Monde are also good. These are all strong beers that don't have a great deal of fizz. Some people might not like that.
grolsch (green bottle with the ceramic stopper) is pretty good too.
Thanks for this... I gotta try.Oldfart said:NBC, Nelson Brewing Co. based in Nelson, BC makes a line of excellent micro-brews, and they don't use any of the chemical shit that gives you a headache, as with Molson, Labatt's, Kokanee and Rickard's.
Nelson brews a fine IPA, a brown ale, and a dark stout. All are recommended.
