I have been paying close attention to this for the last week. Some people still have hope that this isn't going to effect us, but just read this article.

I think it's totally ignorant to say the US taxpayer money shouldn't be going to stimulate jobs in the EU, but don't we all effectively pay taxes to the US when we buy US goods or services? Not just sales taxes either, but through the income taxes of the companies which bring in foreign money. This seems like an awfully short sighted effort by the Americans at stimulating their economy when it's obviously a matter of interdependency.

I'd really like to see the rest of the world work together at solving our collective problem. If the Americans want to play by themselve then we should let them by choosing to purchase goods from anyone but them.

I'd sure like to hear some feedback as to how we can avoid sending money to Uncle Sam. I was shopping for clothes just the other day and realized that even though most of the clothes are made in China several brands were by US designers which probably collect most of the money and send a good chunk of that to Washington. It's easy to avoid US produce and anything made in the USA, but it's not always easy to recognize what I'm getting. How about if we share our ideas in point form for the sake of simplicity :)

-avoid US produce
-avoid products "made in the USA"
-avoid American companies such as Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Safeway, etc

Hmm, any suggestions are greatly appreciated :) Thank you
