While browsing facebook tonight, I saw a curious sight on the right in the suggested friends pane: An SP I had seen a long time ago who I happened to have added in my phone contacts. I recognize her face from her ads. It appears the facebook app on my phone scanned through my phone contacts to suggest people. I dug into this further, and it seems by default facebook allows your phone number tied to your FB account to be searchable by everyone. I immediately changed this setting in my FB account. Here's how you can do it:

I have a similar privacy concern with the skype mobile app. When you sign into this app, it will scan your phone contacts and suggest accounts to add. With this feature, I was able to find out what seems to be the real name of an SP, who I easily found on facebook, including pics of her and her child. If you don't want people to be able to look you up or add on you skype, go into settings on the mobile app, and under privacy there's an option called "manage how people find me." Uncheck any phone numbers to prevent people from finding and adding you via those numbers. I meant to bring this up sooner, but forgot about it till tonight with the incident on facebook.
If anyone has come across any similar privacy issues, please do share.
