Can't blame a girl for trying but it really is a self correcting issue.

It's crazy mainly because we live in one of the most expensive places in North America.

Not many SP will work out of their own living spaces so they need an incall location too. Count on $2500 and up just somewhere near YaleTown and whatever their rent is elsewhere. Huge nut every month.

Everyone deserves to make a good living if they work hard and that includes SP's. Most that I have seen have some sort of exit plan in the works. Hate to see them go but I'm glad they are able to exit on their terms.

Cranking up the rates even for long term clients usually makes the pooners look elsewhere or not seeing them as regularly as in the past.

So like uhoh said "it's self correcting" and I believe we are in that correction now.

With inflation things generally go up, but not always. So 3% increase per year on average?

Was quoted $20 DTES BJ recently which seems 50% off of what it generally was 5 or 10 years ago.

Vancouver rents & real estate have been generally rising year on year. Looking at Craigslist the other day there were many one bedroom rentals for around 2K DT (West End, Coal Harbour, Gastown, etc). Of course no one has to live there & can pay a fraction of that in many other parts of Vancouver, Canada & the world.

No one has to pay 2, 3, or 4 hundred for a one hour date, either.

I was wondering just the other day when this topic would resurface. It seems to crop up a few times a year like clockwork.

Also like clockwork my rent at both my incall and private residence increases by about 4%. My rates have stayed the same for the past 2 years since I've been back, and when I was around in 2010/11 my rates were also the same. Hmmm...

Prices for everything rise and some ladies can demand higher rates than mine and do well for themselves, and some are lower. For the type of clientele and volume I desire to attract I think I'm at the sweet spot. To each their own.

This business is no different than any other. Like any else you buy you are making a value judgement based on what the product or service means to you. I have always been a very infrequent participant mostly because there are other things I'd rather spend my money on. I've had to spend more than $500 on maintaining my mountain bike this summer as parts had worn out. While I'd rather not have to spend the money, that is simply the cost of my fun. As I like to say, "at least I had a lot of fun wearing the parts out. I was thinking of seeing SP but went to Whistler instead to ride my bike. I don't say this to insult any SPs just to make the point that on that gorgeous summer weekend I made a different choice.

Life is expensive...

Some ladies will grandfather rates for regulars. It doesn't hurt to politely ask..
I'm probably not the only one who would prefer the lady to indicate that she would grandfather the rate, rather than ask.
What would be a polite way to ask without harming the connection?

I definitely think there should be grandfather rates. But it would be awkward showing pics of my granddaughter and grandson to someone not much older.

If you can't afford to go see providers, don't go see providers. Lots of people like to eat out, and when money is tight and something happens they back off of it because ultimately eating out and providers are luxury things, not necessities. You can go jack off and eat a pb and j sandwich at home for a lot cheaper.

Make more money, see more providers. That is how I do it.

I am in the pocket of population that can hardly afford anything ever lol, but I find that it is the way it is- no point complaining about pricing, if you can pay, you play, if you can't pay, you quit the hobby, it really is that straight forward. Do I not wish that all SPs charge a "REASONABLE" $100 only per hour? Sure I do, but a fantasy is just that, fantasy...as the old saying goes: "Wish in one hand and shit in the other, and see which hand gets full first."

Actually, since we're on this topic...and I mentioned $100 a hour...Surrey jewel's as close as I can find to match that fantasy with her great service and $140 per hour rate. Not sure how she's able to maintain that and still have such good attitude while other SPs charge twice/thrice that amount and still struggle for a living... In the end, everyone's got their own lifestyle, goals and wants/needs, so are entitled to price/pay whatever suit them best. For me $20 = a day worth of emal expense, for many on here $20 amounts to nothing but tips to their waiter. Similarly, while many SPs will sneer at $100 per hour (using that as an example), that amounts to one hard day of work for me. I think sooner or later it will just be like Vancouver's housing market- only the truly rich will be able to poon while the rest of us sit around and remember the good old days lol.

Contact her, introduce yourself, remind her of who you are. Tell her you're thinking of possibly seeing her again sometime soon but you noticed her rates have increased. Ask for clarification if her new rates apply for just new clients or all clients.
Thank you, that's a nice way to go about it.

Accompanied someone to the Mac counter the other day - my oh my, the price of make up these days!

Then there's the clothing, hair, mani's and pedi's, shoes, shampoo, soap, towels, sheets on top of ownership/rent of an in-call. Advertising, multiple cell phones and "non productive," time that's behind the "sheet time," and it's a wonder it's a profitable business.

I know, I know, some may scoff and say, "yeah, but they see 100 client's a day."

No, I'm more inclined to say that an hour of intimacy is very well priced.

Like someone else said, the SP market is self-correcting.

Frankly it's not like it's the kind of job that forces you to stay in metro Vancouver. The ones who do stay are doing it out of reasons for taste, they can't bear the thought of moving further east because they don't like that area though rents are cheaper.

Competition is stiff - there's always younger girls as the escort ages, it's easy for newcomers to get into it (not like it takes a lot of training), there's always someone willing to do things at a lower price, and there's always someone willing to do more risky things.

So it's always a value proposition compared to what others are offering. It must be tough being an SP, the longer they stay in the game, the worse it gets - unlike other jobs, the longer you stay in, your experience makes you more valuable. Anyways if the profits are decreasing while housing costs rise... move to the Fraser Valley.

IMO Its not high enough, actually a lot of newcomers into the industry, BOTH clients and new SP's, they have this idea that the price is going to be very high, but its really not. It's chump change to a lot of people. Those who complain about it should rethink their life and be ashamed of themselves. An SP literally has to fuck hundreds of different guys to make a profitable income. There has to be multiple clients otherwise it doesn't work out.
