Good times for the SPs are coming. Should we expect rates to increase from mid June to early July? I hope they eventually come back down. What was pooning like during the Olympics?

Also, I would expect scammers to be in full force. Stick with your favourite agents, Perbites!

You ever seen the Godfather part III....?

FIFA is a very crooked global institution, on par with how Vatican and "Internazionale Immobiliare" was in that movie.

My guess is certain 'outfits' are going to send over their 'stock' via Seacan to cash in on this event, which will dilute the market further, and the prices stay 'competitive'.

There's quite a bit of noise from the hotel industry that they aren't seeing the uptick they expected in a lot of the host cities. Sounds like a ton of the tickets were scooped by resellers in some markets and the scalpers are holding a lot of unsold tickets. On top of that, some markets, especially in the USA, are not seeing overseas bookings. If some of the ladies want to comment they certainly can on the pooning side, but Vancouver has big events all the time and 50 or 60 thousand cruise ship passengers in town weekly during the summer anyhow. The market will adjust and guys will vote with their wallets. You can either participate or avoid it, but please let's keep the discussion here within the rules. We have to take down complaints about prices almost every single day.

For one, I hope the whole thing is a massive failure. FIFA is ruining soccer with their corruption and bullshit. I'd love to see half empty stadiums. The economics of sport are completely out of whack.

During the 2010 Olympics it was a toss and affected only the downtown core ladies.

I don't recall seeing an influx of out of towners back in 2010 on Erslist or Perb but someone could correct me . All I remember is that after things settled rare were the economical sectors that benefited greatly other than the hospitality industry during and trades prior because of the construction. Right now construction is experiencing quite the slowdown and the World Cup has not required any new important infrastructure project.

Let's hope that the hospitality industry can profit while it last

I agree, I hope it fails, such a poorly thought out decision and a corrupt garbage organization. Look at the global economy, who's willing to shell out 5 figures to watch soccer? Not many ...
