Pooners rarely seem to meet face-to-face.
Typically, we pursue our hobby in lone-wolf fashion. Some guys seem embarrassed when bumping into a fellow pooner at AMPs or micros.
Well, I’m not one of them. Over the past 1½ yrs I’ve met 8 pooners socially. This happened because one of us liked the other's reviews and suggested meeting, and the other accepted.
For most of the guys I met, this was the first time they actually shared a coffee or beer with a fellow pooner. Several were well-travelled and had amazing stories to tell. In 3 cases, we ended up pooning together.
Just like hockey fans or golfers have a shared interest and often like hanging out together, pooners too have a shared interest and might enjoy shooting the breeze. And, as yesterday afternoon proved, there can be a lot of breeze to shoot.
I met this pooner—call him "Bob"—for coffee. After an hour’s easy-flowing chat we booked 2 girls at a nearby micro.
Turns out, the girls have adjacent bedrooms. Given the rapport between Bob and myself I suggested, "Why don't we just do it in the same room?"
Bob was enthusiastic about the idea, and the girls—who said they had never done a foursome before—got swept up in our enthusiasm and agreed.
Initially, each of us focused on "his" girl but it didn't take long for some spontaneous mixing and matching. After doing Greek with one girl I changed covers and switched to the other for the finale while Bob did CIM with my original girl.
“Two-for-one,” he joked.
Afterwards Bob and I talked up quite a storm at another coffee shop, even competing for air time while trading pooning stories and sundry opinions about life. We went our separate ways close to 4 hrs since first meeting up.
For me, such camaraderie adds not only another meaningful dimension to pooning—it can also create a brilliant synergy by making possible threesomes or foursomes that are among this hobby's highpoints for me.
