If governments stopped trying to manipulate other countries for their own advantage there would be less of a need for a military.I don't have any problem with anger. You took a guestion about ages and turned it into a rant about a war. I guess assholes like you think there is no need for a army until the door gets kicked in.Guess what its too late then. You need to go to balls mangement and try and get some. And when you do give me a call, we will discuss your shower remark.
I didn't make any shower remark, that was INTHEBUM.
I went back to the US less then a year after I left and stayed for 2 months with no problems. The US didn't track people in those days.
My father who was a WW2 vet had no problem with me avoiding the draft. If I had the oportunity to fight in WW2 I would have, that was a different war.
If I signed up to fight in Iraq, as stupid as that would be, I would serve and if I went AWOL then I should be punished, because I would have made that choice, but I didn't sign up for Vietnam, I was drafted. I had no choice in the matter, where people with the right contacts or with wealthy parents were able to defer their service until the war was over or they were placed in areas of the military that never saw combat. (George Bush) Vietnam was a blue-collar war often referred to as a poor man's war. Most of the soldiers were of lower class and were sent to war because the wealthy hid their children in college so that they received a deferment, which meant they did not have to go to war. The wealthy had the luxury to stay out of the army, while the others were drafted and sent to Vietnam.
