Is it possible for a real sex worker to transition to working with the police, such as by a real sex worker posting ads and then the police arrest johns when they got to the visit?
It's possible - but unlikely.

I'd say you are overthinking things.
This may not be the scene for you.

The only certainties in life are death and taxes.

Everything is possible

Type of thing you could see in the US maybe but not up here in Canada as the Police has bigger fish to catch .

A few massage parlors will be raided in Canada but it's mostly to check the age of the ladies involved and about their immigration status .

Don't be paranoid by what you see on American television as Westwoody stated .... unless you go to small town church belt area and make an appointment with a lady working out of a motel. In any big town in our country I would go in peace

Ok, enough with the tin foil hat stuff. First, there's almost no jurisdiction in Canada arresting clients of SPs who are engaged in consensual sex work. The only exceptions have been a well publicized sting targeting guys looking for sex with underage girls in Vancouver a few years back, sex trafficking/pimping arrests and occasional enforcement in some parts of the country of street trade and a few targeting certain neighborhoods/demographics.

The OP is asking about the plot of a bad movie or TV show, not reality. Whenever a sting has been posted, they use stock photos/fake profiles, why on earth would any established provider assist the cops? She would never get another paying client again if she was outed for doing that. Most sex workers detest the police, they wouldn't help them for any reason I can think of.

They do that all the time in Edmonto and London Ontario

As long the laws are on the books, all it takes is just to elect a new conservative mayor who decide to give directions to police to enforce the laws

You are right ! Overly righteous, judgmental and suppressed bunch go after SPs and clients.

Funny enough it's the same bunch that keeps being caught by law enforcement for solicitation....lol

2017. 2019. 2023. 3 stories in 7 years. Yeah, they are really cracking down all the time. C'mon guys, enough fear mongering.

From an analytical point of view, would that make sense? Let’s break it down.

if police is arresting clients consistently- many men will be arrested, eventually word will get out and potential new clients will be more suspicious and careful; therefore the SW won’t have regulars or repeating clients.

Now how will she make a living? Do you think the government will give her a really good salary? Or is she better off on her own seeing clients as usual and have them come back, and not being part of any police operation? 🤔

Those are just examples. Sex purchase is a minor crime, so the media don't publish most of those cases, same as they don't publish every single case of someone charged with drug posession. But police in other canadians jurisdictions do charge on regular basis and you will not hear about it.
This is another example that happened in Saskatchewan, the media would have never published this story if the suspect was not a known politician and member of parliament, otherwise we would never hear about this guy charged if he was just a normal unknown citizen:
https://regina.ctvnews.ca/disgustin...tions-following-prostitution-charge-1.6652911
Also even when some police departments aren't interested in enforcing those laws, they have to act on complaints. Example : some neighbours considers this activity next to them as nuisance and decide to report to the police.
In countries such as Australia where this is legal those neighbours would suck it up, but here cops have the obligation to act on complaints and send officers to arrest clients.

I bet the odds of being arrested in this way is less than 1%.

I'm upset that this board supports the status quo instead of decriminilization like they did in other civilized countries. The current laws are no good for sex workers or clients.

Been following this anonymous board for years and have only rarely seen reports of interactions with LE, so I have to assume the events are fairly rare as well. As mentioned , often it's just
a vote-seeking politician or whacked evangelist that create a short-term fuss to suit their own personal current agenda(yes you Kash). LE typically would rather not be involved with this 'morals' crap.
IMHO

The men who get charged are not necessary active on this board or they could be too ashamed to discuss it

This is completely incorrect. Not sure how you come to that conclusion, but it's a leap of logic I don't follow. The board itself has never taken a position, as we are a review board. I think it's safe to say the admin would favor decriminalization, if it ever came up. I can only speak for myself, but decriminalization doesn't go far enough, legalization is a far better option to provide services safely.
