I have just had an epiphany. One that should be an education for you all.

I recently met a lady who will remain nameless offered outcalls at a reasonable upcharge. The first 2nd and third meetings were exceptional. The 4th however, yesterday, garnished results I own. I recently moved and personal identifiers like a prescription medication for psoriasis was left on my bathroom counter. Personal compromise. My fault. Fast forward to this morning and I get a friend request through Facebook from the provider.

I normally only do Incall with the lady. I'm angry with myself for opening myself up like this.

Back in the backpage of the newspaper days there was no social media or online attachments. It was all outcalls with a driver who waited a block or 2 away.

Practice with caution fellas. I am ready for any extortion this SP might try.

Obviously the friend request was ignored and I've addressed with her through text as well. She crossed a line. And I erased it.

Be careful brothers. Let my fuck up be a lesson.

This is why I rarely ever have providers come to my place. When i did previously a decade ago, I would hide all mail and prescriptons And any photos you may have on the fridge or on a desk .
in the super rare times they come over, I never let them go to the washroom or walk around un supervised
just isn’t worth it

how was the clovobet?

What's a clovobet?

I am normally very staunch in my approach to this hobby. I had a slip up. I think it's been 20 yrs since I did an oitcall. I'm an obvious IDIOT.

So you know her real name or was the FB account under the name she uses as a SP?

Why is this "a fuck up" and "crossing a line"? Sounds like you had a good connection with a SP and she thought it'd be nice to connect in another medium. I guess you could argue that she should've asked via your normal communication channel before sending the request, but honestly I'm struggling to see what the issue is here. Even from a discretionary POV, I get random friend requests from profiles on social media all the time, why would anyone in your life suspect anything different than this?

I've been connected with multiple SP's on social media before:
  • One time was me stumbling across Facebook and the SP showed up randomly in my "you might know" list on Facebook. I emailed her immediately letting her know, told her my FB profile, and was completely transparent, which she very much appreciated. We decided not to connect on FB (mutual decision) and continued to see each other in a professional capacity for years after.
  • Another time was in a session a SP & I were chatting about Instagram and discovered we had a friend in common, so agreed to connect with each other (we're still connected on there to this day, and she's been retired for awhile now)
  • Once was the SP connecting with me by her own initiative, and again, we're still connected on social media even though I'm no longer a client of hers
All 3 were well reviewed, well established, long time SPs who just felt comfortable enough to connect in a different way. It's nice to have an alternative method of connecting and seeing that they are in fact real human beings away from work.

Same. Obviously all are people I’ve met MULTIPLE times and have shared some personal details. I always remind myself that when a date comes up, stay professional and try not to mess it up. And don’t abuse the personal contact with endless texting (tho I’ll admit, I will send my share of memes on IG with those I’ve connected with, lol).

Sorry to hear about your experience. Situations like that are exactly why I never send photo ID or e-transfer. If someone insists on those, I just move on. I use a burner phone and a separate email because I’m not that desperate to get laid.
There are plenty of amazing providers who respect their clients’ privacy and value discretion. If I’m feeling horny, I’ll book through EOA or another reputable agency. I’ve even driven to Nanaimo to BOA because I’d rather get good service while keeping my private life private.
Hopefully others can learn from what happened to you. Privacy is worth protecting.

This is definitely a tricky slope. I've definitely met some great providers that I've talked to and hung out with outside of work. Last one has definitely put a sour taste in my mouth due to super obsessive behavior from them.

Bro chill, she doesn't sound like the type that would extort you. If she does extort you, then she's screwed as well because no one's going to see her

While she may be trying to get to know you personally, and that would be a line crossed on its own as you never discussed that with her, I would think it's more likely she is trying to blackmail you.

That being said, SPs do have a database they share with client details, so if they know any of your address, name, email address, phone number, they can find some of the other info. Data leaks and poor privacy settings on apps have allowed personal information to be released over the years.

I can’t imagine doing this. I keep my personal and professional lives separate and that’s what works best for me.
That is totally fair. I think what you're highlighting (perhaps speaking more to the OP's concern) is that it's important that both parties are comfortable with connecting in a medium like social media, and if not, that's cool & should be respected.

This could be a case of the Facebook algorithm watching you.

Had a similar experience, where I was at a party. And I was speaking to someone I've never met, and only caught her first name. Maybe our phones were too close together, who knows; but the following morning I got a friend request from her. And I accepted, even she was weirded out by it, so we messaged each other and both of us were confused as to why we'd friend-requested each other after a brief casual introduction. Then I told her a story over messenger about how one time I bought a Crock-Pot for my wife, and suddenly my Facebook feed is flooded with Crock-Pot advertisements. So it's quite possible FB is over-stepping when listening to us.

... that all said, the only one responsible for crossing any line is you... You hired an outcall girl, which does in fact carry certain risks to begin with. More risk attached when you invite her to your home. Even MORE risks, if its a home you share with family and children...and MOOOORE risk, if you're not wise to what you leave out in the open.... even if this was a hotel room, the risk could be an accusation that could lead to an investigation requiring the name on the hotel registry and the credit card its attached to.... this is why I only do Incalls and use a burner phone, and carry money in a burner wallet, and take the bus or taxi.

Even repeated experience with that provider carries the risk of 'diminishing returns', and either side 'catching feelings' too. I mean, it's great you have good experiences with her that warrants repeat performances, but sooner or later those simple business transactions turns into a friendship which eventually demand favours and other expectations too. And when those favours aren't honored, she's not going to see the finality of any business transactions, she's going to see things as an obligation on your end...and if you don't deliver, it's going to be drama you don't want.

So in my deductions from the first post here, I'm guessing after a few repeat performances, you thought you could trust her in your own domicile. She took a good look around and saw you're a single person, and probably thought that if she evolves the relationship to an actual friendship she can earn enough good graces to get into some kind of co-dependant relationship, co-habital situation with you. Which I'd expect such desperation with Vancouver's housing market...and figured the second step is being facebook friends, since you left everything with your name and address all over the place. The next step would be asking to move in with you at the price of free NSA sex.... until you have to kick her out, then she's got you over a barrel with accusations.

...or again the FB algorithm is fucking with you.

If this is even a question for you then I'd suggest doing some reading up on social media and how they make their money. Of course Facebook (specifically Meta) is over-stepping when monitoring your activity. That's what the company is built upon is building the most comprehensive portfolio of you by your words and actions on their platforms and selling it to the highest bidder. There is a ton of material online that talks about the highly morally questionable actions of that company, it's definitely a topic worth self-educating yourself on.
