:( Why is it that many advertisers (usually out of town) have their ads in the general review sections even though there is a section specifically for this to go in?

I find it annoying to have to surf through all the ads when all I want to do is check on reviews and other topics discussed on the board.

If I want to see who's advertising that's when I go to those sections.

Mods - is this something that can be controlled?

Just wondering?

Thanks

so G.A., I hear what you are saying - I am definitely guilty as charged as I have been posting in the review areas - particularly saskatchewan as I am heading there soon...however, I have found that if I simply post in the advertisers section, my target market - in this case perbites from sask...don't seem to see the post...its gets lost among the multitude of others posts from advertisers...

so, my question is, what is a good alternative? any suggestions would be truly appreciated!!

oh my.. now watch me, here I go..

It was/is permitted for visiting sp's to advertise in the review section of the city they're visiting. Not saying it's the ideal way to do it, as I agree that there are many of us visiting at any given time.. and perhaps why many seem to be noticing (and getting a tad annoyed). Personally, I felt like you and posted only in the designated section for advertisers however on my last visit, it was extremely frustrating to have my ad bumped to the 2nd page in no time.

I am not one to post again or bump my thread 10 times and seeing the same ads over and over again on the same page, posted by the same advertiser with the only difference being the title and the order in which the text was posted (never mind the constant CAPS)... That was more than a tad annoying. I'm busy doing more fun things (like playing naked ;) ) and don't quite have the time to sit here and bump my thread all day if I want ppl to see it, see me and get naked with me when I'm in town.

Take one look at the section - you can draw your own conclusions..

So, I do apologize... but the only way to have my post stay visible long enough for me to enjoy being naked without worrying if I can keep being naked or get dressed (Boo!) and go home.... has been to post in the review section. Just like most of the girls who advertise on Perb, I'm a one woman operation/show/naked-fun-girl-super-receptionist.:p None of us have time to spend posting over and over again, nor should we have to IMHO.

If you look at the Vancouver section (as an example, I don't know about the Victoria section as I don't usually look there) - do agencies post EVERY DAY, multiple posts - one of each of the girls on their website? No. They post ONCE, tell you about who's available and give you a nice little link to see for yourself on their website. So why is it different for Calgary/Edmonton visiting girls who are advertised on the same site?

Yah, maybe I sound like I'm whining.. So bet it. And this isn't in any way directed at you GA, but your question has been something that's been bugging me too as it's a pain in the ass to feel like my best option to have my advertising even read is to keep it away from advertiser section where the sea of posts from the same advertisers will just sink it in no time. I've brought this up last time I posted in the advertising section but have yet to hear back from those I brought it up to. The silence has been deafening. ;)

If Mods can make a rule limiting # posts per day per advertiser in the same section, I'm almost 100% positive you and others would find this would happen a lot less and most advertising threads would be in the advertising section. I know mine would be, as they used to when I could post them knowing they would be there long enough for you to see it and come get naked with me! :D

Hmm.. so just in case you got missed my answer amidst my rant  - it is permitted for out of town/visiting sp's to post in the review section of the city they are visiting. :)

Thanks I will take a look to see
if we can tidy things up. We found in the smaller forums the
ad forums were not looked at very much but if things have changed there is room for improvement there. So I will take a look and see what can be done.

Thanks for you responses ladies & Fred

It just seems like a bit too much and I agree with both ladies, you need to ensure your trips are successful. So basically I guess, as Fred put it, a little checking to see what can be cleaned up may help. I am not opposed to seeing the odd post, but when there are more ads then other posts it does get annoying.

There never is one sure way to fix things as for every point made there is a counter point. So before I make any suggestions, I will give it some more thought. And I will pm Fred if I think any have merit.

You two ladies have some valid points. Thanks for your insight on this.
