I'm glad the Bruins got deleted (I will never not hate them), but I guess I should not be surprised given they pretty much blew their wad on regular season overkill. Some years, the President's trophy yields a juggernaut; other years, just the illusion of it and an early demise.
I guess we should be glad the Leaves beat the Bolts, but it's so hard to feel that way, when Toronto fans are so insufferable already. The eastern conference has certainly opened up.
Seattle? Well, I liked the Avs (as US teams go), but Canucks fans do not hate the Krakheads (yet). Seattle deserved an NHL team for a long time, and we sympathized while watching Bettman conjure up so many sun belt franchises.
Still, if Seattle were to win the cup, there will be some bitter talk in this town about what the fuck is wrong with our team.
For that matter, if the Leafs or Kraken win the cup, Canucks fans will be demanding the Canucks owners be dragged down West Georgia in chains, in a walk of shame all the way to the art gallery, while people pelt them with rotten produce.
So I guess the best-case scenario is the Oilers winning the cup?
But 3 rounds left to go, so nobody should be planning any parades.
