The 6 to the.. Other 6
Pretty sure this was intended for a different thread.:noidea::confused:
Lol, I am just explaining that I don't do SW's or shorter sessions, so don't expect those reviews from me. I was just answering lenny saying I should stay away from TOFTT if I am new and his inquiry about my using BnG.

So many voluntary forum police lately :O

Just trying to get the thread back on topic of "newer members and their contributions" and not "legendary badger and hatrick and their moral metrics". I have never heard of them :/ though interesting to read, THAT discussion belongs on another thread :noidea:

The Perb mods must be tapping into eastern religion because the reincarnation rate really seems to have amped up lately. (not that there's anything wrong with that)

It's just always impressive to see "new members" come right out of the chute and be so knowledgeable after only a few days and a handful of posts. Kids these days.

As for Jonny, I'm glad someone pointed out that a BNG is not like a drive thru lane. Try it sometime. You might enjoy it.

(and yes, I promise to keep the past buried where it is.....except maybe for a brief annual memorial service).
Not accusing you Lance Alot. I've enjoyed many of your posts for years. But to me it seems like some of the old school have a superioriority complex. And are threatened by the return of some of the past members.

@lenny: don't forgot JimmyBoi!!

@everyone else: I lurked for a bit (but never partook, kind of made an account on a dare LOL) but when I started pooning; i'd say the community is very good (welcoming, VERY helpful, minimal name calling etc). I wish people didn't bully JoshuaP out of writing his "penthouse" style of reviews.. I rather enjoyed it.

It's like a fun, action B movie. Sure, the writing may not win the guy an Oscar but it was entertaining and made me want to see those specific SP's. Also, this hobby is "meant to be fun", so I don't see why people got their britches all crumbled up, LOL.

I used to think the S: A: L: B: (or whatever you say) is useful but I found that to be subjective and you fall into the "grading gray zone", where 5 as an average is frowned upon. Everyone has an ego and I'd measure myself at a 6 for looks objectively? But of course I wanna hear 8-9 LOL. People just need to take each other not so seriously, but be honest on the reviews.

There are a few names (and they often have a few thousands posts) that I respect, but it's annoying to see people got baggage.

I like Warl0ck or YVR's pedantic-ness. Yes he can tangent sometimes but whatever. He feels like a reasonable man and if you gently remind him it's all good... I feel most people bring some value to the board (minus the trolls that says all SP's are ugly and are fat, etc etc which just crossed the line for me.. Lol)

That could be the case. Likely one could say that about any system where certain people hang around the longest.

I know I felt that when I first joined. Didn't feel like it was welcome to post much at all for the first 3-4 years.

Funny thing is I'm not sure just how much "Old School" there is any more ? Hard pressed to think of more than a handful and they seem far more open minded and welcoming than the way it used to be.

As far as I'm concerned, if someone is willing to contribute, post some reviews, has an interesting take or expertise ( and isn't a jerk ) I don't care if they're a newbie, old school , or on their 9th reincarnation. .

Besides, who really gives a shit? It's a fricking SP review board, not the editorial board of the New York Times. What exactly is there to fight over or have a sense of entitlement about ?
I'm not going to disagree with you on that one Lance. I see no point in fighting. However. 4 days in, and I've been deliberately attacked once, passive aggressively.

I don't know if this is subtly directed at me, and I would be a pretty self-centered guy to think so but lucky for you I am indeed self-centered. I've made it known my dislike for those reviews, but I'm not going to intrude said reviews to piss all over the place. I made one comment questioning the redundant review made a second time by the same guy. I'd seen others do the same thing and their threads got locked and the member (I could be wrong) was banned for a week for 'spamming'. Now if the perb mods want to set a double standard because one was an old guy pouring his heart out, and the other was some guy posting porn stills to get people's endorphins running for a girl that's a paid advertiser on this board, that is the mod's decision to make. The comment was simply made as an inference of the previous situation... but clearly I am wrong.

And clearly he doesn't give a shit either so it's not like it makes any difference. No harm no foul.

too funny, Lance. I've thought the same thing- to retire and then return with a fresh handle and carry on.
I can guarantee it happens all the time, anyways.
When I first came on here I was pretty much welcomed for the most part. I'd lurked for a while to get the drift of the board, educated myself with typical review formats, searching criteria etc. so as not to come across as a complete tool. I posted a few reviews- mostly positive- of some of my history to establish a contributing approach- rather than just leeching. I took some time to read through the Lounge and get a sense of the overall forum "vibe"- including the Ladies and their perspectives. Then I felt fine with commenting to the entire group.
But I was soon targeted by good old BJ for taking shots at the "old guard" and what I perceived as their holier than thou attitudes and disdain for noobs (I have to admit that I have not always been the most patient either with certain noobs- but generally from lazy and inane 411 questions where 3 seconds of research would do the trick- spoon feeding really rubs me).
BJ and I had some spirited back and forth, but it soon degenerated into him carrying it on through PMs- accusing me of using multiple handles, being a former banned member, being in cahoots with T8E- all sorts of bs, for sure. Finally I just told him to call the mods if he needed it clarified, told him to quit PMing me and I moved on. I ended up getting a brief time out from the mods (who I referred to as the "Mighty Old Gods of Mount PERB") in several threads for what I perceived as a double standard when it came to veterans vs rooks.
I guess that through experience you get a better sense of how this board operates.
The "old guard" actually has some pretty good insight- if you can see through the shit and have a thick enough skin to take the occasional shot.
For me, being involved with this board is for entertainment as well as information.
I will write graphic PH style reviews with the best of them on occasion. Other times they are more short and sweet.
I do think that as a Review Board that members should put something on the table when it comes to SPs- and not just leech and ride the sweat of others who actually take the time to post a review or TOFFT on occasion. Or just arm-chair and pontificate in sections where they don't otherwise contribute anything except ongoing blather.
But who's to judge what is what, right?
I think that noobs should at least TRY to familiarize themselves with this environment. I believe that would lead to less tension and unnecessary aggression.
Overall I think this board is doing OK. But I do miss some of the "old guard" and their story times. The squirell and the hamster used to completely crack me up!

On the other hand, if someone comes out of the womb, claiming to be a newbie but spouting anti-John literature and criticizing members (like Hatrick) who departed years ago, I can't really consider that person new (and they're disingenuous if they try to gain your sympathy by portraying themselves as new - another reason I've become a fan of YVR Hacker - at least he doesn't pretend he's new) .
Except that that is exactly what he did under his previous incarnation. His claim was that he had been reading posts on this forum for ten years but never posted. Even then, I had my suspicions that he was not being forthcoming about that and I thought I might know who he had been on the forum previously. He now seems to be admitting that he was indeed a member in the past and I'm now certain that I was correct about his previous handle from all those years ago. The funny thing is, I never had any issues with him then despite many others thinking he was a troll even then. I have been trying to give him the benefit of the doubt since his return as yvr_hacker but he sure doesn't make it easy. But I'm trying... I'm trying real hard. :)

Of this, I have no doubt. :p :D

What makes me laugh about guys like you is that somehow you think you should have a monopoly over how reviews are written or conveyed.

You don't. Get over it. We're all different. I don't like 45 minute sessions at (exploited) Asian micros with people who I can't communicate with. You do. Great. I really don't give a shit.

if you don't like another style of review, don't read it. It's not intended for you. That's what the ignore button is for.

I might feel differently if your style of review was any better? But, frankly, it's painful to read, but no one's ever criticized you for it.

Let's take a look....

Here's a gem of a excerpt: "Rika has extremely limited English, she can read okay but used the translator a lot. She's extremely playful but lacks GFE or a connection imo"

Lacks connection? How did you know? Did the translator tell you?

or the classic "She lifts my legs and pushes it against my chest in one swift movement which caused me to rip a fart. Nice use of imagery there burcs!

Why don't you just make it simple for us and classify your girls from 1-5 grunts. It would save a lot of time and space.
I'm extremely flattered that my opinion means so much to you that you went well into my post history (two years?) to try to dig up dirt on me, lol. Unfortunately you conveniently skipped where I said I no longer provide reviews, especially of graphical nature. If you don't understand my want to post a single comment on a redundant thread (explained already above... I see you're great at selective reading), I suggest you revisit grade 3 level reading. Also as stated above, if the mods wanted to set a double standard for their paying advertisers, that's okay and I didn't argue the fact either because obviously I'm irrelevant in those discussions. I disagree that the ladies that I see are exploited, and I'm happy to have a reasonable discussion on that if you want, but if you want to simply put yourself on a moral pedestal to help yourself sleep at night, that you can keep on doing that too.

If you're going to try and shit all over me, at least don't leave my own answers to your questions in your quote.
