Make sure your operating system can handle that big of a drive!
Is it going to be IDE or External??
Really? Does that go for externals too? Dang, I came this close to going out and buying a 1 TB drive earlier today... The only thing that stopped me was the fact that I didn't feel like leaving the house. Now I'm glad I didn't and I read this thread instead! If I'm not mistaken, XP only can reconize a 500gig HD.
With Vista, your good to go.
Check the specs on your machine as well.

I think XP has a limit of 4TB, though I have not tried partitions larger myself. I am currently running 2 x 1 TB drives on my XP Pro SP2 machine and have had no problems whatsoever.Windows XP pre SP 1 has issue's with large drives, the limit being 128 GB partitions. My favourite place for online shopping (provided they have it in stock) is Direct Canada, www.directcanada.com
Actually the Hitachi is getting some really good feedback these days too.Ditto on Krustee's suggestions.
I suggest you go with the Seagate 1 Tb Drive. Seagate offers a longer standard warranty than other companies (5 years vs 3 years).
