Anyone own one ?
Reviews are fantastic
And I personally think it looks sharp

Also applaud the balls of FoMoCo to brand it a Mustang. No such thing as bad publicity , right ?

Don’t think it would have had the same impact on the market if it had been called anything else - too hard to break a new nameplate into such a crowded marketplace

Friend owns one and gave me a ride in it once. It's comfy and feels well made but it should be since it was brand new. Didn't feel much different from a Tesla 3 so expect a fridge on wheels.

I think it's blasphemy Ford would whore out their only respectable nameplate like this but I'm a car guy so I'm biased.

Not sure I'm a fan of using the Mustang name, but I'm considering this as the next vehicle. I love the look of the Rivian SUV but find it hard to justify $150K for a daily drive.

Ford is doing a lot of smart things at the moment.
Love the "Maverick" truck specs. I understand that when they went out for a presale they sold out in hours.
Big investments in Battery and Power Systems R&D.
I'm a GM/Chevy/Cadillac guy but am very impressed by FOMOCO.

Thanks bud . Yeah gonna try to find one this weekend to test drive i think . My understanding is that they are hard to come by, despite an over allocation to the BC (and Quebec) markets

LOL about the Mustang name. But I think that helps drive it’s popularity . A FordXYZ wouldn’t have the same panache.
Saw Bill Ford interview on the name , be was pretty passionate about it.

So I just googled for new Maverick Hybrid truck, got a link to Coastal Motors in Burnaby,
Priced it out for a loaded XLT supercab
<$40K.
I don't know, maybe just being a pooner and sensitive to TGTBT things, this sure seems, well TGTBT!

I agree with Loki. Great that they're making an electric vehicle, but why ruin the Mustang's sports car history by slapping it on some SUV? Not that Ford hasn't made some wonky-looking Mustangs previously.
And "Mach E" ?! What marketing wanker came up with that?

I think the real culprit is the fact that North American car companies are only interested in building SUV's and pickups anymore. No wonder Tesla's kicking their ass.

It’s my understanding that with the legacy costs associated with all Ford vehicles - think 100+ years of retirees/ pensions/ benefits etc - it adds hundreds if not thousands of dollars into the ‘cost’ of every vehicle , hence making them basically unprofitable. I think cars like he Focus/Fusion etc had maybe $1200 gross ? Hardly worth while -
Better to use the plant capacity to build more profitable products! And the stock price is popping lately !

A lot of trades people never make it to retirement in my place of employment , in my shop, over the 14 years that I've been there,6 people have died before they ever got to collect a private pension cheque. With 10 people actually making it to retirement The last guy was just 3 months from retirement but cancer had other ideas. I never understood why everyone is so quick to blame the worker for the cost of production? Yet no one bats an eye about corporate welfare and huge tax breaks that corporations get. And their top executives usually pay themselves $1 /year to avoid taxes. I understand that it's a rigged game and being one of the 99% I'll probably work myself into an early grave. My apologies for derailing the thread.

Wow, terrible about your place of work !
Should clarify : not looking to blame workers at all. I was just pointing out that a very generous retirement package for a 100+ year old company adds incremental cost. It’s all good 👍
Meant to share as some context as to why not producing cars anymore ..

Ford has in the past made some weird name choices. I rented a ‘Taurus’ at Winnipeg airport and found more of an SUV/Mini Van in the lot. Either their marketing people are lazy or someone called Ford at the top is stubborn.

I’ll say the wackiest name for a full Electric car is the Porsche Taycan Turbo 4S. No turbo in it just a two speed gearbox.

Co worker tried to buy one for MSRP. None of the ford dealers would sell them without their crazy dealer mark up.

Consider a VW I.D 4. $50K and it should get the job done.

I've been telling everyone, if they can hold off on a car purchase, to wait it out. Little to no selection, insane dealer markups and factory delays. Buying a car in 2021 and likely 2022 is about as painful as buying a house in BC lol

So glad I bought my winter car last fall, just before all this craziness started. My garage is set for the next 4 or 5 years.
