Just marathoned I Am Not Okay With This. Its a coming of age story about an awkward teen girl who gets telekinesis. Think Carrie but less horror. However it will leave you wanting more, as its 7 episodes 25 minutes. So it feels like one large movie cut up and finishes too soon.

Sixteen years after it's release, I finally found The Machinist online. Years ago, I caught its last scene on TV and it intrigued me. Christian Bale is brilliant. The physical transformation he went through for this role is just remarkable. The supporting cast is also good. Very much enjoyed it.

1922: Finally watched it. It’s another adaptation of Stephen ‘Horror’ King work.
A farmer plots to kill his wife and then narrates the story. Stephen King’s work always has underlying tones of human psyche and this one is no different. Brilliant acting by Thomas Jane. Very deliberate and eerie pace to the story.
Loved it!
4 out of 5 for me.

Any other recommendations along the line of The Machinist and 1922 ? One with good acting? I love where an acting is the star instead of special effects and billion dollar production.

But please no movies about viruses and zombies and similar crap!!

Joker is fucking amazing. If you want to go back to 1976, Taxi Driver with De Niro playing title role was equally amazing in its day. And as side benefit, it has 14 year old Jodie Foster playing teenage hooker.

Binge watching 'Mr Robot'. It's ok. Plot twists aren't too surprising if you're paying attention to the little details.

The Machinist- long strange convoluted film with a rather tepid ending. Acting was good tho, 6/10

The Invisible Man- a drama filled murder mystery. The science doesn't hold up butnot a bad 2 hours., 7/10

Since we are talking about re-watching some older movies. I saw Shutter Island again last night. It seemed very good the first time but it seemed to go on for too long when I watched it this time. But I sure caught some of the details, knowing the story now. Still a good movie but like I said, it did not seem as good this time. This time I was telling myself, 'may be Scorsese should stick to his mob themes."

When I watched it the first time, I remember being impressed by seamless and smooth acting style of Mark Ruffalo but I had no clue who he was till I watched Foxcatcher in which, he totally impressed me and i became his fan. So watching it again was a delight from that point of view for sure.

I guess I had a so many different perspectives to the movie this time.

BlaKKKlansman: I started to watch but for some reason, the movie did not grab my attention, I got bored and turned it off. It has such a high rating on RT, which I rely on a lot. For me Rotten Tomatoes is PERB of movies. :) I am not a TOFTT guy, neither in pooning nor when it comes to movies.

I've been binging on Westworld Season 3 - did watch the first few episodes but lost interest. Season 3 is outstanding though. Check it out!

Hot Fuzz: a british police comedy that has an overly-energetic London inspector sent to a small town. Mostly funny with a rather dark twist. 8/10

Ad Astra: Brad Pitt plays an astronaut in a futurist sci-fi mystery thriller, sent to neptune in order to save earth from phenomenally powerful energy surges eminating from a project captained by his lost father 30 years previously. The physics is laughable but still a decent film. 6.5/10

With theaters being closed, i decided to 'finally' start watching 'The Office'. (Yes, yes, I know I know... ) I am always a late bloomer. Be it money, career, hobbies, TV and above all pooning.

Took me about half an episode but I m not surprised that I got it immediately. Very smart and well written. We've been watching about one or two episodes a day and really enjoying watching it!

Looking for a free version of Parasite, any intel?

Wow! I watched it before Covid 19 came down. Downloaded it using bit torrents. Not entirely legal but almost everyone does it (kind of like how almost everyone on social assiatance is claiming CERB) and unless you are uploading content that no one else has yet uploaded, you are very unlikely to be prosecuted. If you install a bit torrent client on your computer I can talk you thru downloading Parasite and just about any other tv show or movie made in the last 50 years. Hell, I can even talk you through how to install the bit torrent client as well.

The Gentlemen has an all star cast and is very entertaining. Higly recommend. Hugh Grant especially plays a character unlike anything I have seem him portray in the past.

In Lust Mostly
Greyhound on Apple+

I’d forgotten that I got free Apple+ for a year since I bought a new computer.

Written and staring Tom Hanks it’s the story of freighters crossing the Atlantic with U Boat Wolfpack’s in chase.

Sure it’s CGI but totally realistic. One of those shows that’s nonstop action for 90 min. Good script and cast too.

You forgot to mention the action is really underwhelming, and the movie is mostly Hanks shouting instructions to change course, someone replying "aye aye, Captain" and they repeat them non-stop, to the point it almost seems comedic.

If Tom Hanks' name wasn't attached, it would sink like a torpedoed U boat, without a trace.
