pretty decent food, but pretty expensive to be full. meat is not frozen, so that's good. i went a while ago, but i dont' think anything has changed. if you know what spring roll wrappers look raw, that's what they give you to wrap the food in, i wouldn't go back cuz of the price.

If you've ever been to U-Grill at Metrotown or Oakridge mall, the format is the same.
You pick up a steel tray, walk up to a "raw" buffet filled with cut veggies, noodles, marinated meats and help yourself. Then they weigh your tray, and drop the contents on a monogolian style grill and cook it up for you. You pay by weight of the food on the tray.
They'll also play a little game, asking you to guess how much your meal will cost. If you guess accurately (to the penny), I think your meal is free.
They also have a regular menu that you can order from.
But I don't care for the steamed wrappers they provide with the meal.

Is this the same Mongolie Grill that's in both Edmonton and Calgary? If so, it's good but it depends on what you're picking and mix'n'matching. It's the typical style of Mongolian restaurants - pick your food and sauces, pay by weight, and they cook it for you.
Was there earlier tonight and it wasnt for me. Seems like food fair food and i cant stand that stuff. The place wasnt even the clean
There is also a place on Main, between 14 and 15, or 15 and 16. Stop in at Kiku first then eat there. Probably not as expensive as most others.
Yes, that restaurant is very similar to korean BBQ. Food was ok, but nothing spectular. Haven't been back in a long time. I'd wouldn't recommend that place to anyone, not that it is bad food. Rather that the food isn't that memorable.LittleAsianGuy said:
I've been to Mongolian grill type places where you pick your food by the pound and they cook it for you.... and frankly I find none of it authentically Mongolian. It just doesn't strike me as what Mongolians would eat.... it seems more like those Japanese grill places in the malls. If I were to eat Mongolian, I'd expect to be dining on a rug, smoking from a water pipe and eating horse meat practically off the bone.
And as for Korean, did you know that Korean language though heavily influenced by Chinese has its basis in the Turkish family of languages and quite possibly related to Mongolean? Also, the Mongols wound up in France where today a certain Mongolian birthmark among some French babies (a dark blue spot on the lower back) still persists.
