Angels
Orioles
Tigers
Royals
A's

Nationals
Cardinals
Dodgers
Pirates
Giants

Between spring training and the regular season, these teams played close to 200 games each, just for a chance at October baseball.

I don't see the Angels winning with that starting pitching. Losing those kids Richards and Shoemaker is huge. Jered Weaver I guess is there ace even though he isn't even hitting 90 mph on the gun anymore and C J Wilson is brutal. The Orioles also lost 2 other key guys in Matt Wieters and Manny Machado but they have a tremendous bullpen and still enough offence with slugger Nelson Cruz, Adam Jones, Nick Markakis and Delmon Young. They get Davis back from his drug suspension in the second round if they make it that far. The Tigers always look good on paper but rarely deliver when it matters most.

I believe the National League will win the World Series, with Washington the most well rounded team led by young phenoms Strasburg and Harper. The Dodgers have good starting pitching led by 20 game winner Clayton Kershaw and the Cardinals always seem to show up in the post season. Don't think the Giants have much chance and I doubt Lincecum is going to magically return from the bullpen to the starting rotation and turn back the clock somehow. And the loss of outfielder Angel Pagan is a big blow.

Washington over the Orioles in 5 in the World Series.

Could be the A's. For the first 4+ months of the season, they were the best team in all of baseball. Maybe they just got bored and wanted to create some interest for the other teams.

They are the same team with a few nice additions, Jon Lester, Adam Dunn, Sam Fuld, and a few more unrecognizible names.

They have the starting pitching and a great bullpen. Plus they are a platooning team for the most part and that has been a plus in the past.

They struggled heading for the finish line, but their only real competition was from the Mariners. But, watch out for the Mariners in the future, i cannot believe I just wrote that and hope I am wrong, but their future looks real good,

that has to be tongue-in-cheek,right?you are far too knowledgable(sp?)a baseball fan to be serious with that.

much as I dislike the Havana-hot-dog I think the Dodgers are the team to beat....and I hope somebody beats them.

Well, the A's have bailed out already. Lost to a very good Royals team.

But, for anybody who was able to watch the game, I seriously doubt there will be a more entertaining game than the one last night.

That game was great,i don't like the one game format for the wildcard teams,i wonder how long it will be before they stretch it out to 3 or 5 games.

You have to love the Royals, small payroll.no big name players and could be one game away from the world series.

Both teams in the NL are experienced in the playoffs and are solid at every position. KC is hot, but we'll see how they do when faced with an opponent that's been there before.

Not sure if one had to do with the rain delay in KC the other night, but at least one seemed to be scheduled.
Come on you guys, you've been around sports long enough...if there are two games scheduled, they are going to be staggered for maximum exposure and the eastern audience...when the Canucks went to the Stanley Cup final, why did their home games start at 500 PM, when all season long they started at 700 PM...is it not television revenue?
