I found this vintage Michael Moore fare, for the most part, but with one significant difference.
While he did have some particularly good points about the hollowing out of the middle class and how this Trump phenomenon is really just a fuck you to the establishment, his appeal to right wing America was really just cover to kiss Hillary's ass and to mask a smug, hopelessly idealistic left-wing agenda that will never see the light of day.
Although I have rarely agreed with all his politics (I do share some) , I used to respect Moore in the past, though, because he was an outsider and not for sale (Roger and Me was hilarious and I loved TV Nation). No one was better at sticking it to the man (and he took shots at right and left ...much like Bernie did)
The first 15 minutes of his speech drew me in but he lost me with that shameful drivel about standing in line at the White House and Bill and Hillary fawning all over him - telling him how wonderful he was
That was nauseating. The Michael Moore of 1989 would have been horrified and ashamed to see this sell out, dressed up in a penguin suit, parading around the White House and kissing the asses of power.
Like most of the media in the US, they've all completely sold out and lost objectivity (I can't bear to watch CNN anymore ....anymore than I ever could Fox News).
All in all, this is a poorly disguised Hillary infomercial and I'm probably most mad at Moore because at least I used to respect him for being clever and not so fricking obvious.
