I was at a munch a few days ago and one topic of conversation was about dressing up. Part of it was about how women, in general, spend much more time than guys in carefully selecting their outfits. This led to the comment that there is a wide selection of fetish wear for woman while guys, unless they want to dress in drag, are very limited in selection, never mind stores where they can shop.

So my questions for you are:

  • Ladies - what do you like to see the guys?
  • Guys - what do you like to wear? Where are your favourite places to shop?

For me, I love the look, feel and smell of leather. My favourite place to shop locally is Priape. They have a great selection of leather and chainmail at reasonable prices. They also can do custom work. I haven't bought any of the clothes there, but I have a nice set of bondage cuffs from there and a couple of other toys.

Ohhh - clothes!

I love to shop at New World - I have a slave that enjoys shopping there, too - as mens clothes are hard to find. They do custom work, too - Flaming Angels is also great and there's a few other stores near New World that is just wonderful for a shopping spree - and of course Model Express for some things and also Dare to Wear is ok, too...

I love pvc - or patent leather! Shiney and clingy is nice - and I desire a corset - soon soon, though - I am taking small steps towards everything, sometimes they are wobbly steps - but progress nontheless!

We all must start somewhere!

P.S. I would love to hear anyone elses thoughts and ideas for mens fetish wear where to buy - and also what kinds of clothing fetishes there may be out there! I adore feminization and fetish wear like pvc - but finding the right fit is tough for myself and for men!

:D

Other than drag not much fetish wear for men appeals to me. I don't do drag much anymore (other than the nice bits and bobs I wear under my clothes all the time), but when I did do drag I put A LOT of thought into it. I could spend ten hours getting myself ready, go through different combinations of clothes--and sometimes deciding not to go out because I just didn't have the right clothes. Now I feel too old to pull it off anyway.

I would like a manly alternative to drag, but I just can't get excited by most of the fetish wear I see for "straight" men. Dressed in a full latex suit a guy looks a big condom.

I'm not full PETA mad about cruelty to animals, but I like to spare the leather. I like PVC best, I think. But again, the best ensembles are for women, not men.

Really, when it comes down to it, it's either nude (or very close to nude) or your basic boots, cuffs, chains, and belt for men.

i met the rubber doll Steffie (dressed as a woman in rubber, he sweated a quart into his boots...his words, not mine)....at a munch way back when (well, way back when, being a year ago). he/she gave a talk that was absolutely brilliant. he detailed how and why he did what he did....well, who cares really, we all have our kinks...but, he commented on how what he did...allowed him to party with some pretty amazing people. i love how...regardless of circumstance....the D/s scene has it's afficianado's.

D/s is the great leveller of all things....*fingers my dog chain and lock*

Priape and other ideas

Everytime I've needed to dress a man to take to a fetish party I've taken him to Priape. You can find some really sexy/comfortable underwear in there that might be expensive for underwear but cheap for a fetish outfit (maybe $25-$40 for a mesh/camo/fun print underwear). Black boots and sexy underwear and most guys are good to go. Shy about being naked on top? A mesh top, long sleeve, short sleeve or sleeveless is great.

Of course they've got all the latex/leather/chain stuff too.

Jenny at Deadly Couture (across from the Cambie, around the corner from New World) has some decent stuff for guys and can custome make stuff.

I love kilts on guys (solid dark color, not plaid). I think you can get utila-kilts at 7 vets.

Want to stand out but don't want to be so exposed? A tux is usually welcome at most fetish events and chicks dig it.

I also love chaps.

Silk/satin boxers and silk/satin bathrobe will have the ladies all over you.

If you can order online the world is your oyster, Northbound Leather is a great Canadian company and I like Mr. S Leather out of San Fran.

Footwear no-no's: sport style sandals (teeva's) or sneakers are pretty much never okay.

Black boots work with almost anything.

Don't forget the details: just a little dark eye liner looks so hot on guys and NOT at all gay. Makes your eyes pop and gives you a 'dangerous/intense' look.

Priape is one of my favourite candy stores

I dropped by Priape. One of the benefits with where I work is that it's close enough so I can shop there during my lunch break. I walked past the toy section, but not before noticing a few new things that I didn't see the last time I was in, and on towards the fetish wear. Wasn't sure what I wanted to buy. After a bit of searching and some help from the woman who manages the place, I left with something that I'll be wearing at the next bondage party I'm attending.

Sin City is not really my scene. I hear they are having an anniversary bash at the end of July.
