I have to wonder whatever happened to you. I can understand not wanting to make children. There are a lot of people who have decided that the weekends in Whistler, the week at Cabo San Lucas and the Bimmer are more important than inconvenient screaming little monsters. I can even understand not being comfortable trying to win a women, my tongue still sticks to the roof of my mouth and my knees get weak the first time I ask a woman to date.
What I don't understand is you thinking that you can judge those that do enter the race. You can't be beat because you never entered the race. Only those who race can comment with any knowledge on how to race.
You've never tested yourself. You can't cheat because you never anted up.

Oh course its deeper then that. I would hope that no one gets married expecting that they will split in a few years. I think a lot of married couples hope that they can keep the fire going and be togeather till their old and grey.
While having never read that piece, I tend to agree with the statement that we are hard wired from centuries of instinct to do things. Can we choose not to? Of course. Is this an excuse? No it is not.
i saw those couple they were quite adorable. 60 yrs marriage and still in love hey hey is hard to beat. i don't know how they did it. is very admirable!

I jusdge because you chose to lose the race. In fact you cheated to lose the race. Unintentional joke but still the same.
And that atitude is part of whats wrong. Just like the "you don't know anything about how to raise a child because you don't have any" I still know it is wrong to hit a child. I don't need to have one to know that. I don't need to have a g/f or wife to know it is wrong to cheat on her. You promised to stick together, and your only other choice is to not be together. Anynoe can look at relationships, see where they go wrong, what the consequences are, and what you can do to avoid it 100% of the time.
I think your attitude is a lot more about jealousy that I am not stuck where you are and am not a lying hypocrite.
Marriage/relatinships are not magic goggles that all of a sudden let you see all sorts of wonderful things and horrible things that no one else who is not in a relationship can see.
More the other way around, you are so desperately lonely that you do anything to find someone to latch on to, praying she is the right one, then blame her when things don't work and go off and cheat on her.
Sometimes I am just embarassed to admit that I am the same sex as most guys.
