Marc Emery gets 5 years

For selling seeds and is to be extradited to the States.
Get the f*ck out of here.. What in god's name is going on.
I got a lb of hemp seeds in my cupboard , I sprinkle a tsp on
my oatmeal every morning. That would probably get me sentenced
to death. The justice minister that ok'd the extradition is obviously a raging alcoholic.

Im sure he'll only serve 1 yr. He had a good lawyer or he'd be getting life in prison over there

He knew what he was doing, as being an advocate for dope and everything I'm sure he knew the risks. As for Col Angus, might wanna lay off the hemp seeds in the morning as prolonged use does give some people paranoia....btw, who's that behind you? NO....don't look....he might not notice you're aware of him. Just act natural.....that's it. Now dive to the floor and roll under the bed/couch....in 3....2...1..NOW!!!

I don't think being an advocate for dope is an indictable offence.
After all... he was selling seeds, which by the looks of things is
an indictable offence. What's next pooning and prostitution ;)

Prison terms for drunk driving causing bodily harm and known accomplices or distributors
of related mind altering substances. Ooops, that would be the government.

Emery is a grandstanding idiot. I only wish they would throw the key away. And as was previously noted, you might want to take it easy on the seeds.

Wasn't refering to him being an advocate for pot, and that in itself isn't an offence, but it is an offence to distribute seeds....especially to the US. Like I said, if you're an advocate for the use of marijuana, and you've been one for a long time, chances are you are very familiar with the laws concerning weed, in Canada and the US. He knew what he was doing, and he's martyred himself for his cause. Kinda dumb...as it was a half baked idea.....get it? Half baked?

If only all the obnoxious, grandstanding people I know of could be sent to prison forever --- oh wait, being grandstanding is not a crime. There would be few politicians, lawyers or bankers left.

If you are an advocate of change, somebody will find you objectionable, and Mr. Emery does have a grating personality. So do I, sometimes, but I don't think I should be arrested and deported if I don't commit a crime that isn't considered worthy of arrest in my own country. He is a victim of our kowtowing to the ridiculous drug war in the US.

I'm sure he's got your vote. LOL. I have always loved the pot/alcohol argument. Kind of like, would you rather drown in three feet of water or six feet or water argument.
And which one is the six feet? It is a very valid comparison. How many people have ever died from smoking pot? um -- not a single person (although I am sure it has been a factor in some accidents). What are the positive medical effects of alcohol? -- other than as an anesthetic combined with a stick in your teeth while getting a bullet removed by a veteranian?

Drunk people are obnoxious and make me want to leave their presence (if I am not drinking myself); high people can ramble on nonsensenically and bore you -- that is the only factor which you can compare reasonably.

I wonder how long before the wife starts to get lonely ? Maybe it's time to become a pot advocate..........................:p:p:p:p

I must confess, that every time there is an election, I do vote
for the marijuana party when they are on the balloting ticket
in my constituency:cool:

As odd as it may be, it is just that I would like to have the choice as
too how I would prefer my demise/pleasure to be, 3 feet or 6 feet.

...LMAO

He decided hey marijuana seeds are illegal in the states, hence very expensive.

The sells them at $20 a pop.

Who could have ever seen that going bad

Lest us not forget that our freedom in Canada is under threat if our government will serve up its own citizens for crimes it considers mild to another country which sees and punishes such, often, with a heavier hand than that of rape and murder.
Your entire post is 100% spot-on

This is NOT the "USA"; this is Canada. He didn't do it on US soil; he did it from here. We don't consider it a jailable offense. We don't have to send him there, except to bow the requests of a discredited US war on drugs.
