Man euthanizes pet dog, kills self

As stated in the article
"We need to recognize how big, how deep and how intense the human-animal bond can be.”:(

Here and There
You dont need to explain that to me, I've had dogs my entire life, put 4 down all in their mid teens.

Often times my pets have been better family than family.

It could b he was suffering from some major depression , There were other avenues that he could of followed to keep the dog but he chose not to .. It mean there was some thing screwed up with his ability to think rationally

I would do every thing possible to save my dog and I and the family did did when we had one .. But for some people there pet is expendable or a pawn it is so sad ...The last dog my mom had she got from the SPCA it was 8 years old . and was just given up because they could not have it where they were moving .. There were a few other issues the dog had .. but nothing worth abandoning him . My mom love him and now my sister has him and he love it there .

If you have a pet you have to love them more then a child because they count on there owners even more, then children. Children grow up and have there own ideas and want to be independent . Most dog all ways need people and depend on the love of their owner or families .

I know some one who suffered from depression and when he lost his cat of 15 yrs .. it put him in to major slump for months.. The grieving for the lose of family or our pets is one of the hardest things we face in life .. If we feel guilt and that we should of done more to save them .Then it can be very hard to cope with some time ..

Very sad... reminds me of a regular I knew at my old bar. Great guy, always full of smiles, but ended up committing suicide, but before that he euthanized his dog who had been with him for at least a dozen years. It's a strong bond....
