There was actually a group that figured out how to win more than they spent on Lotto BC, they had selection slips filled out and hired people to buy tickets at lottery terminals. BCLC now limits how many tickets a single customer can purchase at the same time. The reason the scheme worked is that the Lotto BC numbers are computer generated and not balls dropped from a machine. Apparently computers don't actually generate random numbers because there has to be code that prevents the same number being selected twice for a draw.
