I have not been to London in over a decade.

I have about 6-7 hours lay over at LHR. Just wondering if there are day hotels within the airport (yes there are). We are transiting via Terminal 2. Just wondering what would be the best way to find a bed to take a three four hour nap.

The research is giving me all sorts of different answers. So I would rather hear from someone who has had any experience.

Speaking in pooning lingo, I am looking for something within ten minutes walk, reasonably priced, with plenty of room , clean 'incall' with showers available. :) Also, I would prefer rates for variety of hours. ;)

You'll have to go to terminal 4, but there are Yotel sleep pods. They're about 25£, as I recall, for about 4 hours and are pretty comfy. Showers also available. I find a shower is enough to refresh and feel human again.

Depending on your status and airline, even your credit card, you may have lounge access. Or pay as you go lounges.

I once had about a 6 hour layover at LHR. I took the tube to Picadilly Circus, got a delightful BJ from a lovely Eastern European lass, had lunch, and took the tube back in time to board.

Sadly I am not one of 'those guys' who carry flashy credit cards, points, memberships, and talk about lounges. I blow all my money on this hobby (not as much lately, but still), so I travel that ... human cargo section of the plane aka economy class. :)

Sometimes not a bad deal if you include food, beverage, shower and snooze room. Calm atmosphere is a bonus.

Book a night at Crown Plaza (the one one Stockley Road), not "day use" which can be more expensive.
You can get there with the Hoppa bus.
They have a great fitness ctr (heated pool, steam room, hot tub).
