It is a sign of the times.
When I first arrived in Vancouver 13 years ago, Hollywood North Escorts was the main go to site for escort profiles on line. It was updated frequently. But, it languished as the market changed, and new sites such as LE and Sexy Escort Ads, and others, took over. HNE did not update the site for several years, and when I last checked a couple months ago it was gone.
Before PERB there was another board that was cumbersome and not user friendly. I forget its name now. ALT.com rings a bell. Coming to PERB was an easy choice for many of us. I have not checked that previous board for years, and don't know if it still exists.
I also checked the Vancouver page of TBD several months ago. It has not been active for years, although it is still one of the main reviewing site in the US.
C. E. R. F. morphed a couple times over the past few years, doing away with a reasonable review section, making it less interesting for pooners to return. It, too, is gone. (Interesting that the PERB filters changed my initial writing of that website to ****. Afraid of a little competition, are we?)
It appears now as if LE is having similar difficulty. It became one of my prime go to sites, including CL, to find a date. But earlier this year LE began running profiles of ladies who had moved from Vancouver, or long ago retired. It became unreliable, and I think many of us stopped going back to LE for that reason.
Today there are just three ads for providers on the Vancouver page. Most other cities in Canada have nothing on their pages. I suspect Local Escorts is taking its final few breaths before it, too, dies and goes away.
The free websites, such as ERS, Backpage, and a bit of a resurgence on CL therapeutic listings, have killed the paid sites. EROS is an American site, so it is somewhat immune to these Canadian upstarts. But, I wonder how long it will be around.
How long will it be before we see Escorts-Canada disappear?
The world and technology makes changes, sometimes in minute ways, that affect all of us. How long will it be before someone creates a site that we like better than PERB, for whatever reason? It is bound to happen.
