I recently lost two friends. I was shocked and saddened by the first, she was an older friend age 42 and had a long and painful battle with cancer before she passed.

With my friend (SC) she knew that she did not have long. (She never let that get her down)
I would not say that I expected it or was suprised, but I was still devistated.

Two days after my friend (SC) passed my friend (CY) had a heart attack. The doctors tried to save her life but it was to late. (CY) was only 27, her mom and my mom had been friends as children. (CY) and I grew up together.

When I heard the news I fell to my knees, I mean she was so young and healthy or so we thought.
She never smoked, ate well, and stayed fit. She had just been married a year ago and has a 3month old son.

I have heard of people 40 something having heart attacks out of the blue but never someone so young.

I have just been reeminded how short life can be and I started this post to remind others.

Life is to short to hold a grudge and too short to sweat the small stuff.

So my message is just as the title reads.....

Life is short so live, laugh, love and enjoy.

Sasha Queen my thoughts are with you.
Thank you for this reminder. It's very important that we give each other a nudge once in awhile to remind ourselves we are not immortal.

Isn't that the truth!

Good on you, Sasha for remembering that your life goes on, (memories intact), even during the grieving process.

Sasha Queen my thoughts are with you.

Gain strength from those close by and as I read the words of advice from you, I am sure your friends will gain strength from your strong and inspiring look at life.

So its been a little over a year since I lost my two friends. Not a day goes by, that I don't think about these amazing woman. I found a very inspiring piece of literature I would like to share.

Here goes:

WHAT WILL MATTER..

Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.

...There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.

All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten

will pass to someone else.

Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.

It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.

Your grudges, resentments, frustrations

and jealousies will finally disappear.

So too, your hopes, ambitions, plans and to-do lists will expire.

The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.

It won't matter where you came from

or what side of the tracks you lived on at the end.

It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant.

Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.

So what will matter?

How will the value of your days be measured?

What will matter is not what you bought

but what you built, not what you got but what you gave.

What will matter is not your success

but your significance.

What will matter is not what you learned

but what you taught.

What will matter is every act of integrity,

compassion, courage, or sacrifice

that enriched, empowered or encouraged others

to emulate your example.

What will matter is not your competence

but your character.

What will matter is not how many people you knew,

but how many will feel a lasting loss when your gone.

What will matter is not your memories

but the memories that live in those who loved you.

What will matter is how long you will be remembered,

by whom and for what.

Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident.

It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice.

This made me think of my two wonderful friends, who will be remembered forever by many.
