This may be the most ignorant (dictionary definition of the word - lacking knowledge) thing I have ever read on PERB, ever. Elections BC monitored and controlled every polling station in the province. Voter fraud is essentially impossible to any scale in BC. The polls got it wrong, pure and simple. In fact, the pollsters were polling the wrong people in the wrong places, in the wrong proportions. There have been some good articles about this recently in the paper. You might want to read one other than the Georgia Straight or whatever other piece of crap you get your news from - not one source I have seen anywhere is alleging any kind of fraud in the election.
They were polling people who had no intention of voting, who loved the NDP but didn't bother to back that up with a vote. They ignored people over 55 and those outside metro Vancouver, who actually intended to vote, who found the NDP's lack of platform and ominous flip flops on Kinder Morgan and other economic issues more than enough to run for cover under the Liberal Umbrella.
Honestly Fudd, you are a left winger all of the time, but most of the time, you aren't so transparent as a wingnut.
As for Christy, this election can only be seen by any intelligent person as exactly what it is, a resounding endorsement from the people of BC of her personally and her party leadership. EVERYONE who has any political knowledge or sense gives the credit to her for outworking, outcampaigning and basically taking what the NDP gave her (the worst front running campaign in Canadian History) and beating Dix to a pulp with it. Someone will step down and she will win a seat and we'll get on with it. David Eby ran a great campaign in the riding, Christy was busy winning the province and she still almost won Point Grey. That riding is notoriously left leaning, despite being rich, the home owners are a little nuts, there are a lot of seniors and you have UBC, the reserve and a ton of renters as well. They keep electing Mayor Moonbeam remember.
It's fine that people are upset that the Libs won the thing. But here's the rub, the NDP lost, despite their bitching and moaning, that's the way it is. The 'first past the post' system is far from perfect, but it's the one we have used since we started things here. Adrian Dix is a horrible leader and terrible policy wonk, nothing more. He's got the personality of a dead fish. No way they win with him at the helm. No way they win with trying to please everyone in their tent, you can't make the environmentalists, unionists, socialists etc all happy AND appeal to the majority of people in this province - who are NOT members of any of those groups. Dix tried to balance it and looked like he was hiding his real agenda (which he was).
