Leo List - so many out of town numbers

I haven't seen so many long distance numbers on LL site in my whole pooner life.
What is going on? Is Vancouver such a hot place of SPs or telephone companies are trying to make some extra $$ off pooners?
I noticed over 15 out of BC numbers just on first two pages alone

It is now possible to get text only phone numbers with any area code that you please. So though the number may seem to be out of town, the girl herself may never have been outside of BC in her whole life lol.

I heard from someone else here that these out of town numbers are simply apps for burner phones

Burner apps. The 778 and 604 numbers that have been allocated to the burner app are all taken. The result of this is that users are offered number from "nearby" area codes to choose from. That's why you see some interesting area codes and numbers on Leolist now.

If anyone is using a burner app, and has a 778 or 604 number, you might want to lock it in. Odds of you getting another one will get exceedingly rare.

BC prefixes -
604
250: Split in 1996 from 604. Serves most of British Columbia including Vancouver Island.
778: Created in 2001 as overlay for Vancouver and the lower Fraser Valley in 2001. Extended to entire province in 2007.
236: Created in 2001 (Effective 2013), overlays onto all of British Columbia[1].
672: Future area code for all of British Columbia, as an overlay for 778 and 236. Set to be released in May 2019[2].
