Yesterday I was contacted by the Calgary Sun in regards to a article that they were writing on the income potential of ladies who are in the SP industry. They contacted me when they came accross my name because of the newstories about Dennis (bunnyranch owner) a I dating.
Dennis and I both did a hour long interview with Jon from the Calgary Sun and incouraged people to get all the facts and look into having legal brothels in Canada. All of a sudden the interview switched from looking at the finacial side of the biz to looking at the reasons Canada NEEDS to make this industry legal. You can read about after the story is out. I will be sure to post it.
As some people know I have lawyers dealing with this and am planning to take this to the federal gov.
What I am asking for by this post is if someone could set up a website where I could get names on a petition.
Many people agree with a brothel type setting for these ladies where they can be tested ect. Work as indy contractors. BUT the problem is no one wants to do this public. A year of thinking about it and learning from the news about another SP killed and found in Edmonton, I along with Dennis's Support am gonna be the name, the image of someone who can treat this as a job, a choice and not a lifestyle. I am hoping I will have fellow providers support and hoping someone could please help me in making a site. Pay is neg.

So anyone who has any thoughts or ideas please email me OR post here as I am going to be checking it offen. Also any stories that we can add to the site from both provider or client that would provide info on why we need this would be great.

In the state of nevada I personally know alot of indies who work outside the brothels. This board has some strong women who obviously through screening and just common sence dont need this type of set up.
What about the men who dont want to risk a criminal record or health issues because someone they see isnt checked weekly.
Bottom line in a brothel you have control on physical, emotional, criminal well being of the ladies. 79 sex trade workers that are now using the name joe doe.
ITS something that is needed, these ladies need to educated, respected and yes should pay there taxes and be able to get credit and bank accounts and houses... The gentleman should have the right to walk into a brothel and know there not going to be ripped off and KNOW the lady there with is clean because its the law.

I lived in Melbourne, Australia where they have had legal brothels for something like 15-20 years.

For me (a customer) the legal brothels are consistent in price, high quality of girls, standard of service. Also, these brothels seem to operate efficiently as businesses (i.e. the price to me the customer is not high - in fact it's currently cheaper than rates in Calgary).

The girls register, get medically tested on a regular basis, and then they are free to work at any legal brothel. I could walk into one of these brothels and see up to 20 beautiful young women to choose from. It seemed to me that the ease with which women could register, get tested, and be protected by following a few simple rules resulted in more young beautiful women entering the business (i.e. more choice for me and a better level of quality)

Legal brothels are not the only outlet in Melbourne, but I am glad that they are in the list of possible options (and near the top of my list when I'm down there).

I suppose legal brothels have their good points, but I for one would see it as nothing but a negative. And yes, I do pay my taxes, and I have regular checkups, so those aren't the issues I am talking about.

I certainly would not want to be standing in a meat market lineup and having men pick me out based soley on my appearance (which isn't bad by the way). I am very selective of any new clientel whom I choose to see, and average less than one new client for every 14 serious inquiries who request my time. It is very important to me that we match on an intellectual level, and that we will have a date based on substance.

Perhaps a few years ago, when I was beginning, and escorting was much more of a sexual thing for me, then the brothel scenerio would be more appealing. However, now my work is much more in the traditional meaning of an escort or courtesan (attending black tie events, dinners, business functions, travel, galas, awards ceremonies) along with more intimate matters. I just don't see those sorts of matches being made in a brothel setting. But perhaps that isn't what people going to a brothel are looking for either.

I would simply find that to be more of a pimp type relationship, where the lady had much less control over her decisions. I would personally find it to be exploitative and demeaning.

But that is just my opinion.

Have you ever been to a brothel to know how the daily operations are performed? The traditional meaning you speak of happens all the time although you may not hear about it because Celbs, CEo's, and everyday people dont want the risk of having a lady, the law exposing them and sujecting them to criminal charges.
Its easy for a lady to say she is checked every week and yes some are but what about the ladies who are not? It only takes a hand full of women who are not as clean to cause a public health risk.
Lady you do have to remember not all ladies are together as most who post here. Just being indy says alot, as its not easy to do.

I dont just say this because of the women, I dont feel men should have to uses SP's and fear criminal charges. I have alot of research also on indys in the US who murder there clients. The ladies go unnamed and are not held accountable for there actions.

Anyone who knows who I am or lady who has worked for paigesplaymates knows I am one of the only agencies who the ladies pay a flat fee to work at. If a lady makes 2000 in a night or 500 there fee is always 50-100 dollars.
I dont have hidden advertizing charges, book on fees extra. I dont have pussy lockdown as some of the agencies in the northern communities do. I DO have strong policy that there is no drugs and no drama. This is a job not a lifestyle for many of the ladies who work. Its a stepping stone to a better means of life.

just curious paigesplaymate

not that I would be against this kind of facility but would it end up being the same , ratewise, as compared to the bunny ranch? I only ask because when I watched the HBO special on their services it seemed like it was $1500 - $3000 for 1hr fs. At least 50% of which goes back to the house?

BTW what's pussy lockdown??
wonder if this is what she
means :D

You have to understand that there are alot of parties booked for those kinds of rates, there also are parties booked where the ladies are more reasonable for the average joe.
When HBO is filming guys walk in flashing the cash for porn stars. Celebs like Ron Jeremy, Larry Flint, Snoop are all around and not many men are not there and thinking its there big break. They have the choice to walk on a price and some pay it. ... Take a look through the website and decide for yourself. Bunny ranch is not sex it a experience absent of the sex.
I know this because I spent time there. Not working but just hanging out.

Pussy prison or lockup.... Alot of agencies make the ladies stay onsite and only are allowed to leave for 1 hour a day with a manager or to there appointments.

Never the safest place
Please send letters to Members of Parliament asking them to decriminalize brothels. It probably wouldn't hurt to point out that New Zealand and most of Australia have already done this. The Parliamentary Subcommittee examining prostitution laws has been restarted, and begins meeting again on Jan. 31.

Chair is John Maloney (Liberal from Ontario), Vice-Chair is Libby Davies (NDP from BC), other members are Hedy Fry (Liberal from BC), Paule Brunelle (BQ), and Art Hanger (although I wouldn't expect a Conservative from Calgary to be in favour of decriminalization).

You do realize that decriminalizing brothels doesn't necessarily mean that you would no longer be able to work independently?

I'm not sure Nevada is as relevant to Canada as Australia and New Zealand. It's far more likely that decriminalization here would involve massage parlours being allowed to legally call themselves brothels, and replace the massage tables with beds.

Here's an Aussie review board and an article from New Zealand.
