Yea, I know, it is baseball and you are Canadians, but there was something very special for most of you there.
Brett Lawrie, from Lagnley, I believe, made his home debut with the Blue Jays and got a standing ovation his first at bat. But he was facing another BC guy, Rich Harden from Victoria, pitching for the A's.
Harden got him out all three times he batted, twice on strike outs, the last time on a 3-2 count with runners on first and third. Lawrie was the last battler he faced to end the seventh. Reports in the news this morning say when he returned to the dugout he was more pumped up than any of his team-mates had ever seen him.
It was his first win in Canada, and against a highly touted Blue Jays rookie. Obviously the game had great meaning for him.
