I see this all the time , not to the same upstream .. But people go buy stuff at Home depot and then it won't fit in their car or it is to heavy for their little van .
I have offered a few time to help people out it just makes more sense when they don't have any.
That was part of my reasoning when i advertised my services as "The Pick Up Guy" But i never got call to pick up stuff for people at Home depot or an appliance place .. but for the few things i did help deliver i realized that it was a two man job and often you need a dolly. $50 does not even cover the time and frustration of removing and delivering washers and stove , or some one wanting you to take a Heida bed down a narrow stair way ... .
I don't mind picking it up and transporting stuff . but they need to be able to load and unload . That is not usually the case .. so then it is more then being a good Samaritan or a part time job . You need to get payed , you need help , and insurance and hope that you don't fuck your self up trying to wrestle with some of the things people ask you to pick up and deliver
