I loved it. I thought it was great fun from beginning to end. But, from what I've read, it cost a LOT to make and I guess it just didn't resonate with today's audience as much as it would have needed to to be a hit. I'm in my 40's now and I know that I haven't been part of the target audience for today's movie makers for a long time. The guys I went to the movie with are all guys I've known since high school, so we're all in that same age range and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Again, not really the typical audience member being targeted these days.
I'm sorry to hear that Disney will lose money on this movie but it is Disney. I'm sure they'll be fine.

And I can see John Carter becoming one of those movies that will find a long life as a future "cult classic" on video.
