I listened to an radio interview with Alan Berkowitz (?). The first part consisted of him ranting on about the Holocaust in Germany. I couldn't help thinking that that issue has as much to do with what is happening in Israel as the rash outbreak in Honolulu does. This has nothing to do with Jews and racism. It is about Israel's responsiblity to the people who reside within it's borders.A couple of people have suggested that anything said against Israel must be or probably comes from “anti-Semitism.” The other side of that argument, simply put, is that any criticism of Israel must be based on anti-Semitism. Therefore, there can be no legitimate criticism of Israel. I guess that must be why we never see any in our mainstream media. In the international arena I guess that’s as close as you can get to a free pass.

was this really said?? I like it, im going to use it the next time i get into this argument.ISRAEL UN SPEECH
An ingenious example of speech and politics occurred recently at the UN and made the world community smile.
A representative from Israel began:
"Before beginning my talk I want to tell you something about Moses. When he struck the rock and it brought forth water, he thought, 'What a good opportunity to have a bath!' He removed his clothes, put them aside on the rock, and entered the water. When he got out and wanted to dress, his clothes had vanished. A Palestinian had stolen them."
The Palestinian representative jumped up furiously and shouted, "What are you talking about? The Palestinians weren't there then."
The Israeli representative smiled and said: "And now that we have made that clear, I will begin my speech."
if you read the post from the guy below, he provides a link that proves it to be and urban myth.was this really said?? I like it, im going to use it the next time i get into this argument.
We can agree to disagree, it's just a matter of how we each feel about it to makes us happy/satisfied. In fact, there's probably no right or wrong way about it, that's why this war will never end, at least in our times. Well, I can be wrong; if the Palestininas find someone who's willing to make peace, a charismatic leader, a powerful one, that they all want to fight!!!! You have to admit, all these Hamas, Fatah, al Brigades, so many factions, most want to wipe off Isreal and Jews. Again, this is the way I see it, many others, it's in the news, it happens whether you can control it or not.And the first prime-minister of Israel said the following:
"We must use terror, assassination, intimidation, land confiscation, and the cutting of all social services to rid the Galilee of its Arab population."
-- David Ben-Gurion, May 1948, to the General Staff. From Ben-Gurion, A Biography, by Michael Ben-Zohar, Delacorte, New York 1978. That by the way was a favourable biography by a Jewish writer.
So ask yourself, who has come closest to actualizing their threat or plans whether in a charter or not.
It is not up to me to justify or condemn what Hamas says in a charter. But one can certainly judge by actions. And by that standard Israel is an apartheid state which has committed war crimes in its oppression of the Palestinians. One of them just yesterday or today when after bombing a refuge for civilians the Israeli Army strew large rubble in the street to impede ambulances and first responders. That is an atrocity.

By the way check out this story in an online ISRAELI publication. It quotes an Hamas official as backing down from their charter threats.

Finally, I listened to a very moving interview this morning on CBC radio. It was with Omer Goldman, a 19 year old Israeli girl, whose father was once Deputy Director of Mossad (the Israel external intelligence agency). She and other have been imprisoned for refusing service in the Israeli military because she could not partake in "war crimes" (her words). She had visited Gaza (prior to the fighting and against the wishes of her parents) and was horrified at the treatment of the people by the Israel Army.
'We love death more than you love life", could also be the sign of very desperate people. I don't like to judge people, and their situation, unless I have walked a mile in their shoes. There is enough blame to go around on both sides. In a nutshell, it is very difficult to deal with people who are proud to say,
"We love death more than you love life"
With that type of logic, it will be very difficult to come to a peace agreement. Until what might be called a moderate Palastinian leadership is in place, peace will just be a wish.
For someone who doesn't want to judge people, you just did.'We love death more than you love life", could also be the sign of very desperate people. I don't like to judge people, and their situation, unless I have walked a mile in their shoes. There is enough blame to go around on both sides.
Ask and you shall receive! How do you stop people who enjoy killing (each other?).
