No You’re not being paranoid. LL can be a cesspool of scams and crooks. However fake ads are likely not police or any LE, they have bigger problems to deal with. Crooks waiting to steal your cash?? Definitely.
LE are concerned with trafficking, and keeping assholes who support that sick world off the streets. If someone gets scammed by that kind of ad I’ll be cheering loudly.

I feel like a good bet is to look for their social media and see who they’re interacting with and what their presence there is like before making a judgement call. Do some research 🧐
Leolist is the wild west. I don't trust most of what I see on there, and I don't ever go to Leolist to find my providers.
I mostly use social media to find providers and get a feel for whether or not I would click with them. Most providers include links to their advertising sites on their social media, so if a provider I have come to trust has a link to her Leolist advert then I am likely to trust what I see.

You are safe re pretty much any level of law enforcement placing ads. And I am 99.99% sure (in BC at any rate) that the days of the vice squads using fakes to ensnare johns is long gone. Pedos, different story and I say go get those assholes.
Back to the post title, as most have replied and many have posted, its a crap shoot but still the majority of perb 411's and reviews relate to LL contacts. I have a pretty healthy list of regulars and semi regulars built up with many of them coming from LL ads, tryst too but I would say the majority started from an LL ad. Why? its easy. Caveats? You can see with a quick scan a myriad of red flags.
My advice, find any of the several excellent threads about Red Flags and note what many have found are sure signs its a pretty hinky ad, avoid those. If you aren't sure, contact the ad provider and dialog a bit. A request or demand for an upfront payment in whatever form from a provider who has not been reviewed is most likely a scam. Exit the conversation without provocation and post something here. The brotherhood might have further insight.
Oh, and do a search LL name - 4 digits. If a review comes up, whether positive or negative, you are way ahead of where you were looking at the ad with your dick starting to get into GO mode.
And finally, for what its worth, my 2bits, etc, yeah one can spend more time on the social media stuff but in my experience, I've done fine with what I posted. Everyone has their own way to find their pooning partner.

Have to agree with the comments above on the importance of research. Ask on this forum too.
50% of ads during the day are fakes, looking for deposits, gift cards, join this site to get verified type, B&S, guy interrupts the appointment, girl runs off after getting money from outcall type crap. After 11pm, it jumps to 90%. Unless she's reviewed here, taking on a new girl from LL is a crap shoot at best. What is not happening is LE bothering to post ads to catch guys. There's been 1 example of that in the last 5 years I am aware of and it was exactly targeted at assholes seeking to meet with underage women. If you are messaging with someone and she reveals she's underage, run away and you are just fine. LE has bigger problems than consenting adults in the sex industry.

A lot of the fakes are harvesting credit card data, especially the ones pushing onlyfans or similar products.
Just to chime in.....the "Lowest level of enforcement policy" is still in effect across BC...they are not engaging in enforcement against consenting adults here.

There are plenty of trustworthy providers who haven't been reviewed on here. If someone has ads on a couple sites, a nice-looking website, active social media... that's generally good enough for me!
