iphone iOS 11.0.2 update problems!!

Is it just me or the latest iOS phone update is causing problems?

My iphone 5s has slowed down a lot.
It drains the battery much faster.

It doesn’t really seem to have anything really worth mentioning in terns of improvements. Well the lock screen can tilt now and when you take a photo, you get the option of editing it immediately but we don’t really need to use it much and it’s a bit annoying imo.

Any thoughts?

I'd suggest trying to go back to 10.3.3

I have a 6S and turned off notifications after I installed 10.3.3

The 11 OS is supporting new phones 8 or X new set of features or iPad Pro's.

I don't see the necessity of continual updates if my phone is operating smoothly. It ain't broke so why fix it?

Same with my MacBook Pro which is an older one now. Apple Genius Bar tech suggested not installing High Sierra since it's specifically aimed at the new generation of Macs. Apparently some of my current installed apps would cease to operate which I can't afford to happen.

I was in the same situation with an older Iphone in the past also and thought the same thing. Unfortunately at that time I found out the bad news of once you upgrade, you can't go back. Didn't matter how many times I restored the phone to original it kept the new IOS. I asked around including at the genius bar and everyone said the same thing, once you upgrade there is nothing you can do about it. I doubt it has changed so VV's suggestion is the only choice. :(

Developers can go back to older versions. If you're desperate, it costs $119 to be a developer. (That's a yearly fee but you only need it long enough to roll back. You don't need the subscription after that.)

Edit to add: hmm, can't find that feature anymore either! Either it's buried or gone. I'll update if I find it.

I'm certain Apple has figured-out how to make the software updates mess w/older equipment thereby forcing you to purchase a new phone

Its no different when microsoft kept updating their windows OS, I remember running windows 3.0 on 2 megs of ram on a Pentium 386, well we all know what they did to get to windows 10, upgrading is just another term for we are going to force you to buy a new iphone ...... I have a iphone6 and it slowed me down.....and I tried a while back not to upgrade,one fine morning I rebooted my iphone and away it went without asking......

Yes, my 6s is slower and just not nearly as smooth as prior to the update. The only decent new feature is the ability to hide certain text conversations from your lock screen.

1. Chances of me buying another iphones = zero
2. IF I buy one, I will make sure I do not update it.

I have iphone 5, I know I know.... and ever since the last update (when I started this thread), there is a delay of about 3, 4 seconds to everything!!!

I think it happens when they upgrade to match the hardware of the latest phones. The older hardware gets bogged down.

Back in the Pentium & X86 days, programmers had to know their shit and watch every instruction. Over time, they've gotten away with sloppy writing as the hardware leaps ahead.

Where do you find this feature? I couldn't find it in Settings>notifications>message or Settings>messages.

lol, I spoke too soon, someone asked me if I want to sell my iphone 5S. I guess T8E is going to have the newest iphone X or whatever XXX it is.

You do it right from your text app. At the first screen of text messages swipe left, now not only is there delete to delete the entire string but also hide alerts.

:)

I'll be a dumb ass! Thanks. Use the delete all the time but I never noticed hide alerts.
