Insights toward overall better

Hello all,

First-time poster so please excuse me if this isn't where this is supposed to go. I have been combing through many of the posts on the forum over the past few months since discovering it. It seems that we have a gathering of people here with a wide range of experiences, including those who have been involved in this activity for decades and those who are relatively new to it like myself. So I thought it would be interesting to see what sort of insights everyone might have learned from their experiences over the years, or months.

Here's one of mine to kick things off.

You don't ever catch the dragon:
Perfection is an unattainable ideal, don't try to find the 'perfect' girl. No one and nothing is flawless, and it is acceptable to make mistakes and have imperfections. Learn to focus on and appreciate the small, positive aspects of life.

But also, IMHO, don't ever stop chasing those dragons in life, as the pursuit can be extremely pleasurable and educational, and is responsible in large part for society's evolution.

Don't overthink this hobby or life in general. You're only given a finite time on this little blue marble so when time permits,enjoy those moments.

...there are dangerous aspects to this hobby, and even though you can commit to a strict set of rules to keep yourself safe, there will always be that outlier of danger to get caught up in.

You get out of this what you put into understanding it.

there’s no one size fits all situation here with this business. Everyone is different in some little way or more so learn how to understand people and how to RESPECT people. If you can’t respect the person you want to see, don’t see them.
