I'M SO DISGUSTED!!!
I was in the dollarama @ 6200 McKay Ave, there was a 20 year old guy in a business suit standing in line with an apple juice and one of the staff started yelling at him to leave. I was about 10 feet away and didn't hear his reply but could tell he was polite. Next thing I know there were 3 older female staff all yelling at him to go but he stayed quiet saying "I just want to buy my juice and I'll go".
It turns out he stole from them "3 years ago!"
Very quickly he was surrounded by a group of staff all yelling at him and most of the people in the store started to gather, he stayed polite and kept saying "I'm sorry for what I did, I just want to buy my juice and go". This went on for a few minutes and was drawing A LOT of attention, but he stayed calm and just kept repeating "I'm sorry, I just want to pay for my juice and I'll go"! But these old bats just kept at him like a pack of wild dogs...
He finally started to get upset and said "fine, then charge me! if not, let me buy my juice", and they still kept at him, he replied "If you make me go, I'm taking the juice with me" (I would have opened the bottle and started drinking it, but that's me)... they were relentless and kept yelling at him making the situation VERY HEATED!
APPARENTLY PEOPLE WHO GO THROUGH TOUGH TIMES CAN'T CHANGE... or deserve a second chance!
I felt bad for him so I went over and was going to start to stick up for him but as soon as I took a few steps towards them and started to say something the lady started to yell at me telling me "it's none of your business... keep your mouth shut and keep shopping"... so I replied "I don't want to shop here with staff like this", I dropped my stuff on the floor and walked out! He took my cue and followed.
We've all gone through tough times, we all deal with it differently... this guy stole from a F#%&'in dollar store AND it was over 3 years ago! Now he's clean cut, dressed in a suit, holding a briefcases, wanting to buy a juice at 12:10 (lunch time for people who work)! I'd have to bet he's either changed or is at least trying to change his life!
I'd love to get all these nasty old bats reprimanded for their actions and WILL be sending dollarama an email.
(GREAT! Now I have to find another store that sells the same storage boxes! Do you know how difficult that is?)
