Iguana's
I have two iguanas, male and female (they are a mating pair). But if you are looking for iguana babies, it is too difficult to incubate them (trust me I tried-not because I wanted more, but because I felt that it was my obligation to try and save them) They have had two clutches, in excess of about thirty eggs each. They are healthy adults, their length is about three feet. I actually got them from an add in the paper, I didn't really want them (I just wanted to look because I had never seen adults up close and personal) when I saw their living conditions I knew I needed to take them, the guy sold them for fifty bucks including heat rock, light, and huge ugly pieced together cage. I have since then bought a brand new uv/uva light and encasement, got a new cage made (it cost me three hundred dollars) and took out their heat rock as recommended by the vet. Both are healthy, but a little aggressive. I make no qualms about it that they need someone who knows about them or is willing to learn prior to them leaving my house. They are not a beginner pet (I have four other reptiles besides the iguanas). The female used to be very submissive, but after her last clutch became a little more aggressive. They both can be handled, but now will take a bit more effort and affection. They enjoy swimming in the tub at least once a week. If they get out the female will hide normally on the floor underneath or behind something, the male will find the highest spot he can. I am not wanting to keep them anymore because I think that they would be happier with someone who will take the time with them. I have done what I can and they are comfortable, but would benefit in a place where someone could give them more time and understanding. If I do find an approved place they have a cage, food (flakes and crunchies), uv/uva lights, heat lamps, cage foilage, heat rock (if you want, but not recommended as they do not understand how long to lay on it, or when they are burning, etc) pretty much everything to get you started, the cost would be negotiable not extravagent. And as long as everyone understands that they do not eat meat they are vegetarians by nature.
PS Chuck do you want the bunny? It is a good pet for ya.
