The problem with all the conspiracy theories is that Dr Atkins didn't necessarily diet at all, ever. He just treated people who were scheduled to have a triple heart bypass, and found that the special diet he developed saved many from needing surgery at all because it lowered cholesterol. Then he discovered it actually had a side effect of weight loss . Only then did he call it a weight loss plan. Protein diets have been known for years, there is even a protein shake that doctors perscribe, for extreme cases, that clock in at 800 calories a day. And are sanctioned by the FDA.
PS I'd fight Willy Picton(or Clifford Olsen) cuz "accidentally" killing him would not leave any stain on my soul whatsoever.
