...and, imitation is the highest form of flattery yes? So, here's my new retirement plan. As my body begins to wear out from this carpentry crap....I need to think forward!
My truck died yesterday. Fuck. Fortunately it died dead in front of Homo Depot/Mark's where I had prearranged to meet my eldest daughter in order to purchase her some steel toes, glasses, and gloves to fit. She's working with me this summer. Point to this? It shut me down for today...I just got the truck back...bad fuel pump...at least it was identifiable and not fatal. So...I decided to do some home maintenance. I cleaned out the back cap...what a mess...pulled out the tools...straightened a bit...blah blah blah. And...loaded up all my empties. About a year's supply. I won't say the number...but, it was a lot. I would like to say each box of empties told a story...but, it didn't. I did discover that I am a huge Big Rock fan though.
So...here's my retirement plan. Every time I visit a bottle depot...I am left with the vague sense that I have been ripped off. How can they really count all that??? Are they inventing numbers?....It seems to me that I push over a million bottles...and when the tally is made....I get a slip entitling me to $5.42. So...I am going to do an expose' a la Michael Moore. I will call it "Drunkard". With the use of a cheap dvd camera...I will show the bottles being loaded into the truck...each box verified as full...the drive down to the depot...the unload process....the final tally...the payment. Hopefully it differs...else I have no film.
I won't be vindictive...I will do the whole "questioning" thing. I will live in France for a few months....then Italy....possibly Japan...not sure about that though. And...I will amass a pile of empties...return them in a similar manner to their depots...and contrast the results. I guess I had better move stateside also for a bit....that seems the largest target audience. I also see sidebars in the people that I meet whilst consuming said bottles...comparing thoughts/reflections/observations.
Being ever impartial...I will be curious to see....who in the world has the best bottle depots? Hopefully the above mentioned nations actually have bottle depots...if not, another fatal flaw.
