I am so concerned with the HIV/AIDS issue with the girls (independents and girls from various agencies).

How did you guys deal with it?

Do you have some way to ensure the safty of yourself before getting into action with them?

Frankly is quite right.... its a calculated risk at any time...

Now, statistically, you're more likely to get "something" from a pickup in a bar than from an escort (agency or know independent)...

Totally agree with FranklyHuge except for the double bagging bit.

If you decide to use 2 condoms, make sure there is plenty of KY or lube between them. It has been shown that without lube the condoms may rub against each other and break or tear.

I appreciated all the comments, especially from Frankly. Yes, I agree, it is all calculated risk.

BTW, even if you check up on a regular basis, it will always be late by the time the bad result comes back.

It is really a risky business. :(

That begs the question... what ARE the statistics on HIV in BC, or Canada for that matter. How many cases of HIV were there in all of BC last year... and were ANY related to call girls??? My guess is nada. Anyone know the HIV stats on transmission through oral sex? I think it's nada, but dont' know.

Then answer the above for your other concerns.... ie Herpes would be a biggie since you can't get rid of it. I'd be interested in that if there were stats on it.

From the write-up on Amazon that book sounds a tad disturbing. AIDS is not simply a "myth" created by the media and health officials, it is DEFINATELY not a gay plague, and particularly if you look at LLDC's (Less Developed Countries) such as Africa it is the biggest health crisis they are facing.

Don't get me wrong, I do agree that AIDS is a bit sensationalized in the media (as is pretty well anything the media talks about), but I'd much rather have us err on the side of caution and be overcautious in regards to AIDS prevention than undercautious. I think a book which argues that the media is simply making a mountain out of a molehile when it talks about HIV/AIDS is very dangerous as it has the potential to create a false sense of security.

Then again, maybe I should read the book before I criticize it. ;)
