How obvious are AMP's to the average person?

I was wondering about this the other day.

There's a place I've had good consistent service at that's kind of my go to if I'm not feeling adventurous but it always makes me nervous getting to.

The entrance is on sort of busy street, middle of a strip mall with a nice coffee shop and pizza place beside. If the weather's nice it's almost a guarantee someone's going to see you going in or coming out.

The coffee shop has outside seating and for anyone out there they could easily see the foot traffic coming and going. Infact, my last visit there was a girl having a coffee outside with I'd assume her parents sitting accross from her.
She could easily see me walking towards her than cut into this massage parlour. As I entered an older man was just leaving. No.. not awkward at all hahaha.

I've pointed out some massage places to friends in passing a few times and they're always surprised.

So.. do you think the average person even realizes what's going on in these shops?

Honestly, I don't think it's too obvious! I never noticed them at all until I began studying/involving myself in SW, and even then I still barely notice them unless I'm looking for them specifically. I've also had some pointed out to my male friends and they never noticed either unless they'd been to one.

So I think the only way they'd really be noticed is if they were being sought out, you know? Of course, people who do business/work beside them may notice after a while but a random passerby probably wouldn't pay any mind. Even while sitting outside for coffee, I don't think they'd realize because usually they'd be distracted with other things and people to put too much thought into what goes on in a random pob unless the business isn't very discreet.

I feel AMP kinda do stand out, mostly because how late they are open until. What spa/general massage places are open until 10pm?

My friends and I use to play this game coming home from downtown during the weekend and count how many SWs we could see along Kingsway. Now SWs are harder to spot nowadays.

Honestly they are not too noticeable. Its only awkward if you see someone you know in an area like that. For example this chick and her bf saw me in Highgate, near those condos with the k-girls and stuff. I was coming up with excuses when she walked right past me and didnt notice. So if random strangers see you go into a massage place, they assume its a legit massage place. There are quite a few in the city, and someone not well versed in the industry cannot tell the difference between legit and non legit without going in or having someone make them aware.

You have to realize that people who don't know anything about the industry just don't think it happens here. It only happens in Vegas with the streetwalkers and in Germany. Out of view, out of mind.

Nope, they are so oblivious. It's only those of us inside this bubble that notice these things, so if they are pooners or sex workers themselves, they might notice. But if those massage places cater to men and women of all ages doing massage/spa type of work, and also offer sex in the back rooms, you can be sure they have plenty of normal regular customers who have no clue. I had to tell someone what was going on in the places she went to get massages at, she said she would still go because its cheap and they do good massage :lol:

I would say it would depend upon the building and the type of sign . Obviously a flashing neon sign in the shape of a woman or whatever would be more obvious than a dark grey building with a number on it ..


their are a couple of places that i know of one of which looks like an abandoned building .

unless you actually live in the neighborhood you are most likely not to notice anything .
even then a dark grey building with guys going in and out most people would not pay to much attention . If I was given a choice between having a massage parlor or a brothel in my neighborhood and a night club. I would chose the massage parlor or the brothel .Not just because i might use their services but . More undesirable noise actions and crime happens at a night club .When people particularly younger men .Are trying to find someone to have sex with . Than when people go to a brothel or massage parlor and go in have sex and get out .
