I'm planning a trip to Thailand but I'm pretty sure people who knew me would be kind of suspicious if I off and went to Bangkok by myself for a couple weeks. Has anyone else had a similar situation? What did you tell people you were doing while you were there?

Contrary to belief, many people go there just for food, culture, party, temples, backpacking, drinking beaches, and not just for sex. There are tons of hippies and backpackers there not for sex.
Sometimes i tell some frind I just went to the stopover destination. I have a 6 hr layover in Japan so I'll just say I'm going there, which is also true.
First off who on earth HAS any right to question you on your choice of travel destinations?They only question that SHOULD be asked is if you enjoyed yourself.It is nobodys business about why you are going to say Thailand and if some idiot mouths off about Thailand a a sex tourist destination your response should be "so you have done some research then?
Live by YOUR moral compass and not the yardstick measurement of others.....so long of course as you are not going there for sex acts with underage children....as that is just plain wrong and people like that deserve to be keel hauled.

Go to another country near by. Such as Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, and Myanmar. Jump over and the flight are a good price.

Mix it up, and do the other touristy things like:
Go to an elephant sanctuary
Go check out the temples
Go to the ruins
Go to the islands
Take pix of you doing touristie stuff and they’ll think that’s why you went.
I recently came back from a trip to the Czech Republic and I did enough sight seeing to quench my thirst and left plenty of time to check out the local scene.
And btw Czech girls are gorgeous. ��

Looking at the online sites lately prices have really gone through the roof compared to where they used to be. Perhaps once there you can find a girl with a more reasonable rate but the agencies really seem to be gouging the tourists now.
I have the perfect option for you. At the same time you go to Thailand you book me a vacation at an all inclusive in Mexico. While I am there I will log into your facebook and post all kinds of pictures around the resort. (without me in them of course) You take some selfies in your hotel in Thailand, send them to me and I will post them on your FB with my location in Mexico. Everyone will will think you are in Mexico and you are in the clear. I will make sure I do a "check in" on your FB couple times a day.

Maybe at the top camps. However most camps welcome all types who want to train, and allow drop ins from tourists who want to train just for a day. while many want to learn to fight, most go for fitness and weight loss. I went to a camp for months which hosted all sorts. Fat, overweight, newbie, male, female, young, old. Anyone can train there, but only the select can fight for and represent the camp.
Yes they have risen, but still a drop in the bucket compared to the prices and quality here. At a high end gogo bar the girl will cost a 600-1000 baht barfine ($25-40cdn) plus $100 ST or $200 LT. Where in Vancouver can you get a young shapely exotic Asian girl for $240 all nite long? (That's the hourly price)
Also, if you look on the local sites in Thai, you can get girls for about half the tourist price.
Yes, you are right prices are still cheap compared to anywhere here in Canada. Hourly rates here are about the same as a 24 hour booking there. However, not too long ago that was the rate for the full week 24/7 service. If you did your research and negotiating you could have 3 or 4 girls for the full week, around the clock for under a grand.
