Home Alarm - Recommendations Please !

We are thinking of getting alarm system installed in our home.

There are way too many companies promising me so much. The best way is to ask the people who have it installed and who have had (good or bad) experiences with one of the companies out there.

So, any recommendations?

I have had an ADT System for years. Their service has always been good. It's an older system now and its nice that they still carry stock of the older components.

ADT provides all the monitoring from Calgary but it has never been an issue with communicating with the local RCMP or the Fire Dept. I think all the monitoring monthly charges are roughly the same?

GSM Alarm Systems

I have a system set up in one of my storage lockers that I monitor for $25.00 per YEAR. No commitments to any companies and no false alarms (mind you this is a storage locker and I have the only key). Works on the cell networks.

I've had....and this is no shit.....Very good luck with a double barrel shotgun over the door, and two Rotweiller brothers that sleep on a mat next to the woodstove,..right in front of my entrance.
I don't take the keys out of my trucks, I don't lock the front door at night, and I sleep like a baby.
Mind you my nearest neighbor is 2 miles away, and generates his own power....But I still don't have any problems.

Well, thanks for the suggestions, but I am not .... a Rotweiler kind of guy. I don't mind dogs but we don't have a dog or any pet for that matter simply because there is no one home during the day. (That is precisely why I am getting an alarm system_. But thanks for your suggestion. T8E
