Chicago won its 3rd cup in 6 seasons, prompting various notables to term them a dynasty....no easy accomplishment in the salary-cap era.
Haven't seen anyone mention it, but it's not a huge stretch to say they came close last year, losing the West Conf. Final in Game 7 OT, a series
which most agreed was the de facto Cup Final.
so, with a bounce or two, they could be threepeats.
Maybe not a good comparison but this series reminded me of the early Oilers when, loaded with raw young talent, they lost to a veteran Islanders team, then
went on to win 5 cups in 7 years.
Sometimes a team has to lose to learn how to win and one gets the sense that these Bolts will be around for a while.
Closest series I can recall, never more than one goal separation until Kane's goal with approx. 5 minutes to go.I'm still surprised we didn't see at least one game
go to OT.
Conversely, the 'Nucks-Bruins was the most one-sided 7 game series I ever saw.the 3 games in Boston should have had a mercy rule, but I digress.
Does anyone else notice that in the Women's World Cup there has been a refreshing absence of the theatrics that feature in the men's version of the "beautiful game?"
It gets old quickly to see "men", barely touched, drop and writhe as if they've been shot.....only to recover, Lazarus-like, the moment the free-kick has been awarded.
And here I always thought divas and prima donnas were female terms.
Was walking d/t this am and there are large numbers of soccer fans clad in USA colors.crowd of 50,000 plus expected tonight.
Speaking of divas, the nba finals could end tonight,as GS seems to be putting it together.not a big nba fan.
note to manni......I can't remember where I heard the term "pisscutter" so I googled it. Seems to be American slang for something exceptional, but
there was also a Scottish reference where it had a negative ring to it.
Finally, I recently read(forget who) someone opine that Eddie Lack would bring a 3rd round draft pick in a trade.Isn't he worth more than that? The guy has
shown he's capable of being a starting goalie.
Hope this starts some comments.
