I was in Grenada,2001.
Hilly island,tan colored sandy beaches.
English speaking locals.
Grande Etang National Park,located in the highlands,featuring a unique species of monkey brought over from Africa,differing from the Barbados green monkey.
What Grenada is most prized for,is the status of a true,"Spice Island".
Cinnamon,Nutmeg,Pepper,Vanilla and so much more.
I like to think of it as a Foodie paradise,as well as a friendly& beautiful tropical destination.
My favorite meal was,"Lamby'the locally prepared conch shell meat,implementing locally grown spices.
I have only the best of memories,regarding Grenada,the sort of place you would treat a woman to a romantic vacation.
Grenada is very highly recommended,on my part.

2001 is a long way back,too.
At that time,both Peoples Republic Of China & Taiwan,were investing in Grenadan public infrastructure.
American tourist were taking a liking to Grenada,life was peaceful and the people were glad to see the backs of Eric Gairy & The Mongoose Gang.
The Mongoose Gang were an Extreme Marxist State Terror Organization,which laterwent on to assassinate their Prime Minister,Eric Gairy.
Leaders of other Caribbean States,conferred with Ronald Reagan,who never liked the Cubans building a big airport there during the Cold War.
Between a Prime Minister being assassinated,the Cuban presence,American students trumped up as endangered,it was showtime.
In 1998,during a two day stop in St.Lucia,I did spot two badly malnourished boys with distended bellies and the memory is one I can never forget.
Yet everything else I saw on St.Lucia,was well worth seeing and I would still like to hike the trails up the two world famous sight Pitons.
I just hope the people of St.Lucia,have managed get it together,such that all citizens get fed something.
I'm also aware that Nepal has social issues of malnourishment among citizenry,yet I still wish to pilgrimage trek Annapurna/Manaslu/Khumbu,while I still have the legs to do so.
