The biggest burger I've tried in BC was that famous Mountain Burger at Mrs Riches in the Island ( Nanaimo ). After eating healthy organic food in a yoga retreat in Tofino last year - I just had to do it afterwards.

Have eaten at Wally's, Splitz, WhiteSpot and Boston Pizza over the past 2 weeks to compare. Wally's isn't even half what it use to be, texture of shoe leather ... i won't be back (old place was 1 minute away). Splitz is what it is ... always overcooked whatever type of meat you order, i like the Bison. Whitespot Swiss shroom burger is always delicious. But the Boston Pizza Prime Rib comes in first, they cook them to perfection ... just wish they weren't so darn expensive.
Really? Boston Pizza makes a pretty good burger? I'm gonna try it next time. Everytime I go there I get the pizza and wings. Maybe a burger next time lol
Sorry. Any place using the fussy, phoney, marketers non-word "wetbar" in its name cannot possibly be producing good burgers, or good sausage or weiner dishes either.

Stackhouse Burger Bar
Vera's always been tops for me in Van, but lately, I've been making more visits to the Stackhouse Burger Bar along Granville. I love their burgers. :nod:

Vera's Burger joint IMHO offers not only the best burgers but are extremely price friendly as well
I like a good Harvey's Angus burger . It is what you make it , and there fries . love them too.
I would usually get them at my Home Depot But now we have no Havey;s in Victoria ! That sucks !
Many of the local pubs in Victoria have some great burger , Maud Hunters , Flying Otter , Station House , The Spitfire grill out at the air port , the list goes on and on , It very hard to get a bad burger at a pub here .
We once had a place called Bob's Burgers out in Langford .. Closed about 30 yrs ago LOL , Then it was a ornamental sales places and now there is a Burger King on the same spot...
Whire spot , A&W drive in and Bobs buger's that was what we had for burger places in Vitoria 50 years ago .

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but it's Canada Day after all and I'm sure everyone's having their share of burgers this weekend. I can't believe nobody has mentioned the mushroom burger at Red Robin.
Here's how I do my own burgers: the usual eggs and crackers, but ditch the ketchup and replace with HP sauce and a little worcestershire and for spice use montreal steak spice. It's the best thing you'll eat since the last SP you saw!

Save-On Meats does a good burger.
If you're heading to the PNE this year, Jimmy's Lunch is good. Especially with all the fried onions.
For fast food takeout, I like A&W and Wendy's.

I used to have to go to Calgary all the time I've never understood why there are no burger joints there. Peters is wildly popular but has terrible burgers but people don't know any better I guess
I was at the A&W today and i had their specialty Teen Burger with guacamole and hot peppers for $4. It's one of the better burgers from a franchise chain that i have had in quite some time but is only available for a limited time. I'm going to give them a call later and let them know if they can bring it back every so often.
Not really a burger joint but the burger in Pourhouse, which is preferably served medium rare, is freakin' good. :thumb: Of course their known as one of the best in Canada for their cocktails so it would be nice to have some concocted drinks as well. :nod:
